The PULS is a space for inspiration, creativity, and diversity in Hildesheim. It’s a central hub for work, socializing, exchange, networking, consultation, and knowledge sharing right in the heart of Hildesheim. PULS is home to an exciting community of tenants. The cultural offices of the city and district of Hildesheim, along with cultural networks, are located on the first floor. The Institute for Forensic Psychology is also on the first floor. Start.Platz has set up shop on the second and third floors, offering support to entrepreneurs. The Jung practice is also located on the second floor. On the third floor, in addition to Start.Platz, there is the editorial office of Radio Tonkuhle and a private apartment. The core focus of our work is creating synergies between culture, universities, businesses, cultural administration, and the city/region; strengthening the cultural and creative industries; enhancing the neighborhood’s appeal; boosting the city’s and region’s reputation as a cultural hub; and developing an inclusive space for harmonious coexistence.
In 2022, plans were made to redesign the exterior façade, and toward the end of the year, a competition was announced among three artists from Angoulême, Hildesheim’s French sister city. Angoulême is known as the city of comics – so what could be more fitting than installing a work of art from its home region in the square bearing the same name? All three invited artists submitted their designs by the deadline, which were evaluated in a three-stage jury process. From the three designs, the composition by artist JULIE GORE was ultimately selected. The project was completed in March 2023. – Puls Hildesheim
