Urban Art Biennale 2024 – „Guzra“
The French artist SÉBASTIEN PRESCHOUX was born in Chartres in 1974, currently he lives and works in the French capital Paris. For the Biennale in 2024 he created an interesting braided formation made of threads in red and white colors. This fantastic three-dimensional structure was created from 2,800 meters of thread, a true art of weaving. The strands are arranged in geometric paths and create an interesting color combination with the colossal iron beams of the steelworks. The threads are stretching to connections and the arrangement with the symmetrical courses are reminiscent of a spider web, but it could also be a hammock in which you can relax comfortably. Directly at the Völklinger Hütte steelworks. It is definitely a great installation with a lot of detailed manual and minute work. At the same time you have this contrast of art at lost places with strong colours in dark ruins. This artwork is titled „Guzra“, which means in Hindi language something like „passed by“.
