ESTONIA: KaKu Gallery & Mextonia Murals

We visited this fantastic artful place even twice and each time there was something completely new about it. First there is the long streetart mural of course which you can see while just passing by. It was made during the Mextonia Festival organized by the Mexican private platform Nueve Arte Urbano and the Estonian private company Todoes uno Eesti in 2017. Artists collaborated and left some awesome graffitis and color on the town walls. We did as well an interview with the Andres Mesner, the ownder of the inside existing art gallery called “Kalaranna Kultuurikuur” or in short form just „KaKu“.

GREECE: Kapani Market – Culinary Graffiti

The Kapani Market is one the most traditional markets in Thessaloniki. It serves the needs of the consumers since the Ottoman occupation in the beginning of the 15th century. The whole area is covered with single shops who offer regional vegetables and fruits, great spices, various types of meat and fish, and of course the famous Greek olives in numerous sorts. If you like streetart you should as well go especially on a Sunday, because then you will see what is hidden on the shop doors. They are just all covered with graffiti, tagging and paint. Some well done, some not that nice, but still it´s full of it.

BRITAIN: Sprayer and SOSSVA member CURLY

The British Sprayer Keiron Curly Whitehead changes the face of his surroundings and is doing this in several ways, totally open minded with honesty but as well with a radical uncompromising way. CURLY is a member of The Secret Society of Super Villain Artists and his range of creative work is basically graffiti and streetart, but as well canvas, drawing and actually everything you can paint on. His saying: As long as the paint can stick on it, I paint it. The sprayer from Darwen loves to do walls but did also already all kinds of vehicles. Cars, caravans or wagons but on the bucket list there is still a plane and a helicopter. Check out the article with an interview.

GERMANY: Creative Hub Chausseehaus – Kreativnomade

The Kreativnomade is settling down. At least spatially, the inspiration remains free. Sam Khayari is truly called the painter, photographer and visual artist, but many in the Rhine-Main region are more familiar with his stage name and his works or the events he organizes. The wandering has but now an end. Sam has found the ideal building and a new home for art, culture and music in Rüsselsheim. He calls it creative Hub himself. In a restaurant that has been vacant for 20 years from 1887, after a long and loving work, the creative center of the Kreativnomaden has now opened, the Chausseehaus.

SWITZERLAND: BIGMaa. – Bernese Rap on Schwyzerdütsch

Half gangster, half jogging pants hero. BIGMaa. combines both and raps to musical blends of various electro and rap subgenres. “BIGMaa.” basically means “Big Man”, a mixture of English and the Swiss German word for man. The Lord is indeed great and he raps in Swiss German. Sometimes funny, sometimes provocative, sometimes silly and often critical. Over the last few years, the eloquent musician has published a number of works written in Bernese studios or during his many stays abroad. “De Boca A River” was recorded in Buenos Aires and brings Spanish influences into the beats, with “Nom de Dieu” is played with French phrases.

FRANCE: Paris – The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel) is a 324-meter-high iron truss tower in Paris. GERMANY: Sprayer RAWS – #Neograffism

It is a letter-writing, a kind of executed graphic bombing, which Kai Imhof creates. A mix of graffiti and graphics. He calls it #Neograffism. The Berlin graffiti artist may be better known to many as his sprayer name RAWS. Since around 2004, the creative artist sprays and paints works on facades and now also on canvases, shoes or even car rims. Graphic – Graffiti – Minimalism. These are the three core elements of RAWS conceptions. Graphic, because also with acrylic, because structured, with brush from the studio and graphically flat. GERMANY: The OhOhOhs and The Oh!chestra – Classic Technoid Freakout

The OhOhOhs have made a name for themselves over the years as a live acoustic techno duo in Frankfurt and beyond. Whether through rousing concerts and summer festivals, on dance demonstrations or at funky parties. The show they delivered on stage each time was definitly worth a visit. When observing these two hyperactive music-geniuses while getting crazy on their instruments during a live concert, it´s impossible not to dance along. The trademark of the artists has always been to fabricate the technoid electro sounds completely by hand. So you have to be fast.

ROMANIA: Vehicles of the Banat

Photo Gallery about all kind of vehicles we found during our road trip through the Banat. Included are horse trailors like you see on the main pic, but as well cars, bycicles, trains, trams, buses, trucks, tractors and even quads. There are beetles, police cars, driveable lawn mowers and sportscars. The age range is diverse as well, in the collection you can find quite new luxury cars, as well oldtimers or just left over car trash. And of course, al lot of people still trust in the good old bike or the 1 PS strong horse.
