The exhibition “Ein wahrer Kunstreigen”, which would mean in English „A True Art Reign“, features paintings and sculptures by international artists and was organized by the art society KUNSTVEREIN WASSERSCHLOSS from 29th June till 27th July in 2025. Great artworks were shown created by HANS ALBRECHT VON MALTZAHN, ANNETTE BISCHOFF, HANNE BRENKEN, DINAH BUSSE, INKA CONRADS, JOSÉ ANTONIO ASENSIO FERNÁNDEZ, KLAUS HORSTMANN-CZECH, FRANCOISE MAYERAS, DIETER NOSS, GERARD ROSÉS and STEFFEN WRIECZ.
HANS ALBRECHT VON MALTZAHN
HANS ALBRECHT VON MALTZAHN was a German artist, polo player, and farmer. He served as the incumbent president of the German Polo Association from 1972 to 1980 and from 2000 to 2011, and subsequently as the association’s honorary president. He also painted creative landscapes. He was born on 1st November in 1934, and died on 12th October 2020.

ANNETTE BISCHOFF
ANNETTE BISCHOFF has been working as a freelance artist since 1987. After studying architecture, she has been drawn to faraway places like Mexico, Indonesia, Canada, the USA, North and South Africa, China, and Turkey, among others. In addition to the traditional architecture of these countries, she is interested in their religion, culture, and mythology. She translates her travel impressions into paintings, developing her own narrative language. Study trips to New York and Salzburg in the early 1990s deepened her style. Since 1987, she has exhibited numerous times at home and abroad like in Spain, Turkey, USA, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

HANNE BRENKEN
The painter HANNE BRENKEN was born in Duisburg in 1923. The artist’s early work, before her move to America in 1978, was still influenced by the contemporary spirit of Abstract Art Informel, but on Long Island, New York, she found her distinctive style of „organic primary forms,“ ??as art critic Juliane Roh described the „core substance of Brenken’s visual language.“ Since her first solo exhibition in 1958, HANNE BRENKEN has exhibited her paintings in renowned galleries and museums in Germany, Italy, and the USA. Her works are part of private and public collections, including the Guggenheim Museum and Queens Museum in New York; the Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, Long Island; the Phoenix Art Museum, Arizona; Westmont College, California; the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich; and the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. Since 2003, HANNE BRENKEN has lived with her husband, Ricardo Wiesenberg, in Vence on the Côte d’Azur in France till she passed away in 2019.

DINAH BUSSE
DINAH BUSSE was born in 1964 in Bad Saarow, Brandenburg, and has lived in Berlin since 1966. She began painting and graphic design in 1978. She is a founding member of the ACUD Berlin gallery, which was established in 1989 as the alternative art association ACUD e.V. She held work contracts with the Senate’s artist funding program, created paintings with the performance group „emp,“ and received funding from the Kulturfond Foundation in 1994. In 1995, she received the AKB Cologne Art Prize. That same year, she also embarked on an art expedition to the Russian Arctic. In addition to her artistic work, DINAH BUSSE currently works as a lecturer for painting and graphic design at the Volkshochschule Berlin.

KLAUS HORSTMANN-CZECH
KLAUS HORSTMANN-CZECH was a German graphic artist and sculptor of the Constructivist movement. He was born on 23rd June in 1943 in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic, and died in Heidelberg on 4th June in 2022. Besides numerous paintings, installations and sculptural artworks he also published several books.

DIETER NOSS
DIETER NOSS was born on July 31, 1947, in Hamburg. After training at the Hamburg Art Academy, he studied graphic design and advertising for four years under Professor Hans Michel, as well as taking further courses in painting and drawing with guest lecturers such as Peter Phillips, Richard Hamilton, and Guttuso. He worked for 25 years as a freelance graphic artist and designer for advertising agencies, publishing houses, and editorial offices. He now lives and works as a freelance artist on Lanzarote and in Munich.

STEFFEN WRIECZ
The artist STEFFEN WRIECZ is originally from Dresden, spent seven years sailing the world’s oceans for the GDR, and fled to the West in 1982. A freelance artist since 1990, he lived for several years in Paris, central and southern France, and for a few months in Andalusia and Morocco. Since August 2009, he has lived in Stockholm with his wife Susanne Blatt, who leads the German congregation there as senior pastor, and their two children Anna Maria and Hans Christian. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Paris, Granada, and Berlin, at Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam, in the pavilion at the Frauenkirche, at the World Trade Center, and at the Dresden Art Fair, as well as annually at the Steiner Gallery in the palaces of Babstadt, Gondelsheim, and Bad Rappenau. – Kunstverein Wasserschloss
