From 1st to 3rd August in 2025, the INTERNATIONAL STREETART FESTIVAL WILHELMSHAVEN took place for the 13th time in downtown Wilhelmshaven. In the pedestrian zone and in the Nordsee Passage, 31 artists from eleven countries laid their colorful and ephemeral works of art at the feet of visitors via floor murals. From imaginative motifs to astonishingly realistic depictions, the entire spectrum of street painting was presented in the three categories “Copy,” “3D,” and “Free Art”. This year, visitors to Valoisplatz were treated to an oversized 3D work by artist MELINA BERG, who enchanted Valoisplatz with her gigantic and impressive artwork.
The following photos are from 2025, mainly of the floor murals, as well as videos from previous festivals. The first INTERNATIONAL STREET ART FESTIVAL WILHELMSHAVEN took place in 2011. Since 2024, there has also been the additional SPRAY WATT GRAFFITI FESTIVAL, which is specifically for writers. In 2025 more than 70 graffiti artists embellished the parking garage on Peterstraße opposite the former city hall complex with their creative works. There were almost twice as many writers here as at the main festival, plus an extensive DJ and hip hop program. Actually it’s two festivals in one.
