From August 17th till 23rd in 2025, the neighborhood in Bremen’s Gröpelingen district, around Bromberger, Gnesener, and Rostocker Streets, were transformed into an open air gallery during the MURAL CITY urban art festival. The focus was on our planet Earth and the common theme „Beauty of Nature“. Ten international artists designed ten facades with climate-positive colors. There were guided tours and an opening party at the KUNSTKIOSK on Dirschauer Street with good music, treats, and many creative activities for the whole family and anyone who enjoys art and community. This fantastic project was initiated by PETER STÖCKER aka THE CUT and the theam of his art agency LUCKY WALLS, with the support of the culture association KULTUR VOR ORT. Limited prints can also be purchased via the MURAL CITY SHOP and the artists‘ respective subpages, with a part of the proceeds being donated to charity.
The Vision of Mural City
Bremen should become more colorful, vibrant, and inspiring. Many bare walls in Bremen have so far been silent. They tell no stories and just stand there – we want to change that. With sustainable urban art, we want to enhance neighborhoods and positively change the realities of life. However, our vision extends far beyond art: We strengthen identities, create new self-esteem, and foster a closer community. Sustainability is particularly important to us – in art, in urban development, and in the use of resources. Together with you, we are making Bremen a pioneer for urban art and culture. By promoting and networking the local urban art scene, we want to start a movement that will be visible far beyond the city limits. For the homeland, art, and culture. – Mural City
„The Dance of Blooming“ – ANTONIA LEV
ANTONIA LEV is a visual artist based in Paris and originally from Russia. She was born in Moscow and lived there until 2022. With a degree in illustration and graphic design, she now develops her artistic practice in France. For the past ten years, Lev has been intensively active in mural painting and street art, creating large-scale works for festivals in Russia, Israel, Germany, Finland, and Georgia. Her visual language is characterized by flowing, minimalist forms and soft color gradients—inspired by the currents of longing she observes in nature, the human body, and animals. She often collaborates with her husband, the artist STEPA AIFO, who is also a contributing artist to festival. – Mural City

„This work is dedicated to the moment in nature when trees begin to bloom in spring. During this time, it seems as if they want to become the center of attention—for birds, insects, and humans. They celebrate new life and invite everyone to join in their dance. „The idea for this work came to me while observing a tree in a garden near my home in a suburb of Paris. I noticed that its trunk was spiraling—as if nature itself were dancing a round dance around it.“ – ANTONIA LEV

„Woman with Goose“ – BJOERN VON SCHULZ
Born in 1978 in the tranquil town of Münster, Germany, the designer, illustrator, and graffiti artist BJOERN VON SCHULZ discovered his passion and talent for figurative drawing and painting at an early age. He was a founding member of the artist collective and later creative agency Studio Egotrips. In 2015, von Schulz left his familiar paths and agency life behind and devoted himself entirely to his art. For over 20 years, he has exhibited his work both domestically and internationally and regularly publishes in various publications. – Mural City

„An iconographic depiction shows a woman in harmonious connection with nature. Surrounded by flowers and birds, she protectively holds a goose in her arms – a symbol of care and harmony. The illustrative style combines traditional symbolism with modern aesthetics and encourages reflection on the relationship between humans and nature.“ – BJOERN VON SCHULZ

„The Green Gift“ – CHUS

CHUS was born in Italy, where he worked as a colorist on graphic novels for Italian and British publishers. In 2016, he moved to Denmark and became part of a vibrant scene of muralists and graffiti artists. While working as an illustrator and designer, he discovered his passion for large-scale murals. He has never lost touch with his roots in the green hills of Tuscany and the wild Apennines – trees, wildlife, and rivers from this landscape continue to inspire his dreamy murals. – Mural City

The mural is structured like a triptych. At the center: the encounter of a young girl with a magical, nature-loving figure. In a welcoming gesture, she receives a gift from the „green lady“ – young, green, sprouting trees. Bright colors and strong contrasts draw the eye to this scene. The side panels are more subdued: on the left, a portrait of the girl; on the right, the meeting hands from which new life grows. Across the upper edge, in the shape of a seed, a root pattern extends to the main figures – a symbol that nurtured roots and the right seeds allow a better future to grow. – CHUS

„Listen to Nature“ – CLOAKWORK
CLOAKWORK is a Malaysian street artist and illustrator known for his playful style of bold colors, clean lines, and narrative characters. Growing up in Kuala Lumpur, he began creating graffiti in his neighborhood and soon expanded his repertoire to include murals and other forms of public art. Many of his works feature oversized objects and playful scenes that evoke imagination and wonder. He has created murals worldwide and worked for brands such as Calvin Klein, Pepsi, and Montana Cans. – Mural City

„Inspired by the harmony of nature, I imagined a world where humans and insects live in balance. We depend on each other to maintain this balance. Even though we often see ourselves as the best at shaping our habitats, it’s important to remain open, observe closely, and learn from other life forms. Every species has its own way of creating a life-friendly environment, and this is precisely where we find a great source of inspiration.“ – CLOAKWORK

„IMPACT“ – DRÜ EGG
DOMINIK RÜEGG aka DRÜ EGG, was born in St. Gallen in 1987. He studied animation and currently works as a freelance illustrator. Drü Egg is known for his graphic style, which combines clean lines, geometric shapes, and minimalist color palettes. Dominik finds inspiration by walking through his everyday life with open eyes or while traveling. – Mural City

„In nature, everything is much more closely intertwined than we often realize. Our actions leave traces – sometimes visible, but often hidden. Even the smallest intervention can have far-reaching consequences: from the smallest cell structure to a massive landslide. My work invites us to reflect on our own influence on nature. It reminds us that our IMPACT is greater than we might believe and that awareness is the first step towards change.“ – DRÜ EGG

„The Heart of the Forest“ – LINA BESEDINA
LINA BESEDINA is a Siberian-born muralist, illustrator, and graphic designer living in Buenos Aires. Her dreamlike murals combine academic painting techniques with Latin American graffiti and explore themes such as femininity, memory, and magical realism. With nearly 100 murals worldwide, she has participated in events such as the Grenoble Street Art Festival (France), the Urban Art Biennale (Bolivia), and several mural projects in Sicily (Italy). For Lina, public art is a tool for wonder, reflection—and gentle resistance. – Mural City

„As a child, I once said a tree is a living being – and I was told that wasn’t true. I disagreed then – and I still do today. This mural captures precisely that childlike instinct: A child kneels before a glowing tree heart, sensing the wonder within. „The Heart of the Forest“ is a tribute to the quiet vitality of nature. It invites us to pause, listen – and remember that the world is much more alive than we are often led to believe.“ – LINA BESEDINA

„Geometría floral“ – LOZADA (left) – „Melting Bloom“ – NERONE (right)
LOZADA is a Peruvian artist with nearly 20 years of painting experience. He began his career in urban art, but over time, his work evolved toward abstraction—an approach that reflects his personal vision of art. Lozada believes in the positive, transformative power of painting and that it can bring about significant change. Today, he is considered one of his country’s most prominent contemporary artists. He travels regularly to present his work in various countries. His works can be seen in murals, workshops, and international exhibitions. – Mural City

„In this mural, I wanted to depict the developmental process of the plant world. In my interpretation, I show how a seed forms from the lower level and grows upwards – visible in the roots and their development until it reaches its most beautiful manifestation: the blossom. This is accompanied by other important elements and processes, such as the dispersal of new seeds, which initiates the beginning of a new life cycle. I believe that the true beauty of nature lies in the constant cycle of life – this work is intended to be a homage to this.“ – LOZADA
NERONE is a French urban artist who, after seven years in London, now lives in Marseille. His visual cosmos powerfully combines typography, floral compositions, and urban energy. For over a decade, Nerone has been active on the international street art scene, creating large-scale murals around the globe—including in London, Seoul, Padua, Miami, and New York. His often luminous and vibrant works explore the connection between nature, humanity, and graphic identity. Nerone is inspired by opposites: between architecture and vegetation, spontaneity and precision, light and shadow. His style is characterized by intense color palettes and generous forms. In addition to murals, he also realizes projects in the fields of graphic design, illustration, and art direction—often in collaboration with brands, festivals, and institutions. – Mural City
„In this mural, melting flowers symbolize the fragility of nature in the face of climate change. Their slow decay becomes a metaphor for the passing of time—and with it, the disappearance of the ecosystems upon which we depend. As an artist, I see my role not only as creating images, but also as bearing witness to the changes taking place in our world. This work doesn’t aim to provide answers—rather, it aims to raise awareness through color, movement, and emotion.“ – NERONE

„Boy with Flowers“ – SOWET
FRANCESCO PRINCIPATO aka SOWET is an Italian painter and street artist. Inspired by the Renaissance as well as style writing, his work combines classical tradition with urban culture. After studying in Pistoia, Venice, and Florence, he participated in many international street art festivals. Among other things, he has also participated in the HIDDEN TREASURE urban art festival in Bremen. Today he works in Italy and internationally – on murals, canvas works, and public art. – Mural City

„A boy wearing a crown of daisies and chamomile stands upright, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hands. His gaze meets the viewer’s—a silent invitation to connection. Delicate hues of aqua, light ochre, and sky blue create a calm, peaceful atmosphere. His patterned outfit contrasts with the painterly style of the background while echoing the colors of the flowers. At the bottom of the image, two oversized daisies anchor the scene. A vibrant blossom floats above—symbolizing the quiet, radiant beauty of nature.“ – SOWET

„Dog Flower“ – STEPA AIFO
STEPA AIFO is a muralist and post-graffiti artist. In his work, he explores legends and modern myths. He creates mystical beings, spirits, and helper figures. Stepa Aifo believes that art should save us from the truth. Therefore, he consciously distances himself from the literal representation of reality—and seeks access to another space, filled with new life forms, symbols, interconnections, and clues. His visual style is characterized by a passion for architecture and archaeology, typography, and natural forms. – Mural City

„The artwork captures a fleeting, transformative moment of connection with nature. At the center of the composition is a dog inhaling the scent of a flower. As the scent permeates the animal, the flower seems to connect with the dog, momentarily changing its essence. In this moment, the dog is no longer entirely a dog, and the flower is no longer entirely a flower. The artist—a silent observer of this encounter—is also transformed by experiencing this moment. With his imagery, he attempts to capture the magic of this fleeting transformation.“ – STEPA AIFO
