Wolfsburg is a northern German city in the east of the state of Lower Saxony. The city was founded in 1938 as the headquarters of the Volkswagen car company, now has around 125,000 inhabitants and is one of the few cities founded in Germany in the first half of the 20th century. Of course you can find as well cool graffiti and interesting urban art! There is a legal graffiti wall at the HALLENBAD cultural center. In English the name means “Indoor Swimming Pool”. And yes, it is a former indoor swimming pool, but today concerts, art events or other creative projects take place.
At the southwest corner of this former indoor swimming pool there is a small fenced-in, but openly accessible area with several wooden plank walls set up in a ring, on which writers can legally try out or optimize their styles. You would may not speak of a “Hall of Fame” (yet), but the quality of the pieces overall is very inhomogeneous – from Toy to King, everything seems to be there. It’s definitely an interesting place and it remains to be seen how this wall develops over time. The HALLENBAD cultural center and the Graffiti Wall can be reached on foot in just a few minutes from the main train station.
