Leipzig is located in the eastern German state of Saxony, has about 625,000 inhabitants and is the eighth largest city in the country. Worth seeing is the market square with the Old Town Hall built in the Renaissance style, the late Gothic St. Thomas Church with the tomb of the famous musician Johann Sebastian Bach or the St. Nicholas Church, where the Monday demonstrations took place, which brought about the fall of the GDR regime in 1989. You should also see the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, the Waldstraßen District, the river Weiße Elster, the view from the Panorama Tower and one of the magnificent exhibitions in the Panometer, a former giant gas storage tank. Here we have a collection with magnificent creations of urban art photographed by graffiti hunters and streetart lovers MAZZANTI and RENE GIESE aka SILENT PICTURE COMMANDO.

The peaceful Revolution – FISCHER ART
The approximately 3000 m² large and detailed mural was created by the artist MICHAEL FISCHER aka FISCHER ART in 2009 on a facade of several house walls in the street Brühl. It was made on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the peaceful revolution in the GDR.
MICHAEL FISCHER ART made an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and painter, worked as a janitor and nurse in psychiatry, graduated from high school after the fall of the Wall and studied from 1992 to 1997 at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. The artist works with very strong colors on large surfaces, uses simple structures and draws partly comic-like figures, but also, for example, realistic portraits. He is known for his socially critical themes and his large-scale paintings of buildings. He forms his sculptures from iron, or also designs them from scrap metal such as old cars or even old tanks. Internationally, he has artistically designed well over 100 buildings and is constantly seeking new challenges. – Fischer Art
