USA: Mural Artist and Ecuadorian Graphics – LITUMAISM

Edgar Lituma Soto has traveled to all corners of the world. Tracing a path through colorful alleyways in South America to the swarming, vibrant markets of southeast Asia, his art is an intricate blend of multicultural influences and the visions of the hazy dreamworld between sleep and consciousness. The uniquely artistic member of his native Ecuadorian Sucua family is now a graphic designer and animator by trade, though his downtime is full of creative endeavors—the products of a passion for self-expression. His work has appeared in local galleries, pop-up shows and in mural form. Despite a severe case of chronic wanderlust, Soto calls Atlanta home at the moment.

MEXICO / GERMANY: Mujer Gato – Dark Elegance and Steam Punk Fashion

I followed the photos of this fascinating artist lady on Instagram or Facebook for quite a while and always I thought those pictures are just damn cool, also very weird and often like from another world. The actress and creator of these scenarios with super stylish portraits is Dulce Ramirez. She currently lives in Heilbronn in Germany, but is actually from Mexico City. When she left her country about ten years ago, she did not only bring the cultural memory of the “Dia de los Muertos”, that means the “Day of the Dead”, but she also incorporated this theme into her art projects out of missing her home and from these first sparks of artistic development she designed a complete fashion queen of another kind. Namely herself: Mujer Gato. She’s weird, dark, interesting, different.

USA: Marc Kennedy – Musician and Freak Out Collagist

I stumbled over this fantastic and in multiple fields active artist because of his funny and crazy collages. Seeing them over and over, these odd and stupid characters made me just laugh and these artworks became like a little comic strip series. Marc Kennedy did these visual objects by cutting, preparing and replacing photos while he had a little break from recording a row of his songs. He published as well a book and is producing cool t-shirts, but mainly he is a musician.

CANADA: Ronley Teper´s Lipliners

We had again a very nice studio visit. A band from Toronto was announced. Before the show I did a little research and listened to some songs on the internet. Very nice, funny and interesting music. I could not assign the singers voice to the person, wasn´t sure who, and if this „Ronley“ was a man or a woman, a bandplayer or this incredible frontwoman. I just communicated with this person via Email. But she (so means a woman) runs the show (means the band, not the radio show, this should I do), but she´s the boss and the networker of the music collective. It´s a nice and great network of musicians who connect for projects, jam-sessions, concerts or bigger tours.

USA: Sonny Lee L – Canvas Artist and Digital Painter

I always loved to read comics and I still do, the shelves are packed with X-Men, Thundercats and Ascensions and heaps of boxes are stored in the cellar. While scrolling through social media some month ago I stumbled over this creative guy here from Ohio and checked out his digital abstract comic styled artworks which took my attention. You could say some of his artworks are abstract freak out comics sketches for adults. I loved it and wanted to get in contact with the artists for an interview, so here we go!

MEXICO: Sprayer SHENTE – Hecho en Mexico Crew HEM

When we traveled around Israel we met two other backpackers in a hostel. The one´s name was Israel. That´s wired. Israel travels through Israel. His friend´s name was Israel as well. More strange. But then, after we asked what exactly they are planing to do on their journey and after they told us, that they are graffiti artists and on a kind of a streetart roadtrip, then it was clear that there has to be an article about these guys.
