The Alte Feuerwache e.V. was founded in 1989 to offer non-profit neighbourhood work and youth welfare. In the meantime, it has grown into a medium-sized socio-economic company. The foundation of the association was initiated by the Association of German Scouts, Landesverband Berlin e.V. (BDP).
Many of the founding members are still active in the association today. About 67 employees including two trainees are currently involved in the association. In addition, freelancers, interns and volunteers work here. Part of the building and the backyard is as well a free spray area where continously new art gets created.
