We continue to resist the invaders
This work of art is intended to draw attention to the sale of living space to capitalist and profit-oriented investors, which often takes place unscrupulously and ignores any humanity with the sole focus on money. The apartments and the homes of the quarter are getting sold, expensively upgraded and the original residents can no longer afford these apartments themselves and are no longer able to live there. The creators OWS DESIGN want to remind people of the abuses, problems and consequences of gentrification.
The phrases on the banner are based on the intro from the Asterix comics. All Gaul conquered? No, a small village is resisting. „Wir befinden uns im Jahr 2013. Ganz Berlin ist verkauft. Ganz Berlin? Nein! Wir hören nicht auf, den Eindringlingen Widerstand zu leisten…“ This means in English: „We are in the year 2013. The whole of Berlin has been sold. All of Berlin? No! We continue to resist the invaders…“
