SPAIN: Streetart Lanzarote - Arrecife - Graffiti and Urban Art on the Canary Islands

Arrecife is the capital of Lanzarote, has around 65.000 inhabitants and is located on the island’s east coast. One of the city’s main attractions is the Charco de San Ginés, a picturesque saltwater lagoon surrounded by white houses and restaurants. Other highlights include the historic Castillo de San Gabriel, the Castillo de San José, which houses the International Museum of Contemporary Art, and the popular Playa del Reducto. Arrecife also is especially famous for its colourful Carnival, with music, dancing, costumes, and large parades. Art events such as the Bienal de Arte Lanzarote and streetart events like the FESTIVAL DESIDIA and the CIRCUITO DE MURALES ARGANA BAJA also contribute to Arrecife’s creative atmosphere. „Ser es Dejar Huella Sin Pedir Permiso“ – „To Be Is to Leave a Mark Without Asking Permission“ – 16th May 2025 – FEOFLIP

This artwork was finished on 16th May 2025, the next day on 17th May marks the International Day Against LGBTIphobia. It was created in collaboration with Asociación Lánzate LGTBI+.

FEOFLIP about the artwork: „This mural is based on identity, on the fingerprint as a labyrinth, and on the idea that each person has their own essence—that each of us is unique. These ideas originated in a comic and illustrations I began sketching between 2011 and 2012, which have now come to fruition and which I repurposed for this project.“ – FEOFLIP
