La Esperanza is a small municipality in the north-eastern part of the Canary Island of Tenerife. It belongs to the district of El Rosario with a total of 17,500 inhabitants and is located at a mountainous altitude of 1000 meters above sea level to the nearby beaches. The small town is famous for its annual local festival, the Romeria, with live music, performances and fireworks. The 16th-century parish church of Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza and the old town with its colonial houses are well worth a visit, and the whole area around it is a popular hiking paradise. La Esperanza is also home to urban works of art and here is a collection of artworks photographed by CELIA A and MAZZANTI.
