Emsmühle – Emsmill
In 1754 the bishop of Münster, Clemens August I of Bavaria, had the mill built with three water wheels between the mill and the weir. After the fire in 1894, the mill was raised by one floor and the water wheels were replaced with turbines. In 1937 the mill was supplemented with a silo that adorns the portrait of a sower. For economic reasons, the mill was shut down on December 31, 1965. Since 1985 it has been used to generate electricity again. It produces 900,000 kWh of electricity annually with two turbines.
