The painter BÄRBEL FLOHR from Beilstein and the wood sculptor RAINER LOBITZ from Bad Wimpfen show generous, strongly colored and abstract pictures and a sculptural examination of current developments in society and social interaction under the theme “Zeit-Zeichen” which would mean in English “Signs of the Age”. The “Zeit-Zeichen” exhibition could be viewed in the Kulturhaus Forum Fränkischer Hof until March 13, 2022. The admission was free.
RAINER LOBITZ and BÄRBEL FLOHR want to use artistic means to draw attention to problems and encourage people to move from a strong I to a strong We. Solidarity, friendship and family should become more important again.
The snippets of language depicted in the sculpture “Discussion” by LOBITZ are tortuous, applied and seamless, which together with the “Open Ear” and the “Vision” form the main theme.
BÄRBEL FLOHR is self-taught in painting. The various techniques and materials that she uses simultaneously in one picture stand in an exciting juxtaposition, as do the color contrasts. – Heilbronner Stimme
The artists want to draw attention to the problems with their creative means in the form of harmony and dissonance, chaos and structure, power, appearance and beauty and give a stimulus to live more consciously. Solidarity, neighborhood, friendship and family should become much more important to make our day “valuable”. The works show this message in a tortuous, tight-lipped, thickly applied, frank and seamless manner.
The sculpture “Discussion” is intended to reawaken the desire for discussion, including poetic ones, in direct contact with one another and at the same time shows the bridging effect and the complexity of the language. A protruding ear with winding surfaces and channels arranged one on top of the other surprises with its size and harmonious design language and yet ends in a torn auditory nerve and illustrates a massive disruption in our communication. Partly unfinished, steeply towering and groundbreaking is the design language of the vision. This is how our personal vision should be, taking into account the serious challenges that surround us. – Bad Rappenauer Mitteilungsblatt
