Canada / StreetartThe fantastic artist MAXILIE MARTEL aka MONO SOURCIL from Montreal embellishes huge walls and facades in urban areas with her colorful and comiclike murals filled with weird and funny-scary characters. She started with small stickers and initially drew mainly business people in stress mode. At some point the figures became more and more oblique, the works of art bigger and bigger. Still her trademark is the “uni-brow”, which appears continously on her artworks and also reflects the meaning of the name. Mono Sourcil means uni-brow. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
Italy / StreetartMRFIJODOR is the pseudonym of FIJODOR BENZO. He tried for years to have a tag like all writers, but in the end he was satisfied with his first name. As a child with a strong creative vein, he began by making monsters with LEGO bricks and drawing on the walls of his bedroom. In recent years, his production has been very varied, ranging from installations to thematic murals, but also performances and graffiti, which he has been dealing with since 1994. He creates works whose subjects are usually elementary forms that carry direct and ironically responsible messages; at the base a simple reading key, in order to always be able to dialogue with the user. Very often, his works are marked by a social or ecological criticism, using as a weapon a childishly amazed smile and a spontaneous and direct style, free from complex technical elements. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
Ireland / Painter / Social / StreetartKevin Bohan came to art and graffiti via detours, but better later than never. For far too long he was working in unsatisfactory jobs, he didn’t pursue what was inside him, which eventually led to many years of depression. But the way out of the dark corner was finally painting and creative design. Art is his medicine. Over the years Kevin has done countless fantastic murals in Dublin and throughout Ireland, either on his own or in collaboration with other renowned sprayers. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...

Painter / USA“In each painting I am committed to creating sacred space, portals into imagination using abstract expression, color and texture. My paintings express an internal landscape that provokes emotions.” Drea Jensen – For the artist Andrea Jensen art is not only her chosen form of expression; it is also a special power and energy that can deeply touch and connect people. Her creative abstract works are doors to the mind and to the heart, they express emotions, good and bad, and touch the viewer on an individual and personal level. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...

Cyprus / StylistWe live in a throwaway society, yes, but you can do something about that. Clothing in particular is discarded far too quickly, even though you could still do very interesting things with it. But often there is simply a lack of ideas. History / JapanDuring our tour of Japan we made a stop in the historical-idyllic city of Kurashiki (Japanese ? ? ?, -shi). The Edo-era merchant town is located in Okayama prefecture and the former Bitch? province of Honshu, the main island of Japan. Kurashiki means something like „village from warehouses“. There are still dozens of buildings (Kura) preserved, which represent a symbol of the city due to their typical facades. It’s worth a visit. It is best to stay for a few days in the nearby Okayama and make a day trip by train to the cultural site. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
Cyprus / StreetartThe neighborhood Taht-el-Kalein in Nicosia is located in the inner core of the city around the historic Famagusta Gate. There are churches and mosques here, but otherwise it is a rather run-down area in terms of buildings and workshops, many of which have been abandoned and lost. Just as the buildings are only half used, so is the graffiti, which are rather bombed and short pieces, but super old ones are still existing. Nevertheless, the place is very interesting and shows a historicity of local crafts development and urban art. This strange border situation changed a lot and keeps it strange. Local artists like especially ASTRAKISTRIKES with her project „Mapping the Old City“ try to bring more color and innovative ideas to those quarters. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
France / StreetartRunning parallel between Boulevard François Suárez and Impasse Fuon Santa in the Nice northern suburb called La Trinité there is the canal of the Vallon de Laghet river, which in some months carries very little or no water. The concrete channeled riverbed provides the perfect surface for graffiti and urban art and the Fuon Santa Hall of Fame has been created here over many years with a lot of really good pieces.
