Robert Charlebois
Robert Charlebois is a very important singer-songwriter in Quebec culture. Born in 1944, he began his career as a singer in 1962, in the midst of the ”Revolution tranquille, a period during which French-speaking Quebec was in turmoil. Influenced by anti-conformism and the Californian counter-culture, he quickly became the terrible child of Quebec pop-rock. His duet with Louise Forestier marked the spirits and propelled him as a superstar during the 70s, 80s and 90s. Perceived as an actor of social change, Charlebois will rather reflect a social period and a generation that would upset Quebec society. Charlebois is still active after more than 50 years of career.
