A wonderful ragbag for alternative travelers and fans of creativity, especially urban art. On this platform you can find interesting reportages, detailed country or city maps and coverages on awesome artists. There is a whole section about interviews with unique people and their amazing work, as well about crazy events and interesting sustaining projects from all around the world. Meanwhile we have more than 280.000 photos from 100 countries in our archive and we try to preserve some of this creativity with our documentation. All respect to the artists! As well to all the numerous people involved in this non profit project. We do this voluntarily because we love it and we want to support the art scene in general and socio-cultural understanding between us on this planet. If you find any mistakes or missing information, just send us a message. We are creating, building and changing on this website all the time – but – of course! Britain / Design / Events / StreetartIn 1992, the very first BRISTOL VOLKSFEST was held around a soccer pitch in Almondsbury, Bristol. Founder ADRIAN ASHBY’s idea began as a hobby, offering like-minded VDub enthusiasts the opportunity to display their treasures and exchange parts, knowledge and appreciation for the legendary vehicles. From there, it naturally evolved into one of the UK’s largest VW shows, attracting fans from across the country and abroad every year. As well as the cool vehicles, which are often adorned with airbrushed artwork or creative decorations, you’ll also find graffiti sprayers in action, creating awesome pieces on the adjacent walls with the BUNKER CREW.

Chile / Nature / SportsHere we have an fabulous recommendation for bicycle riders, mountainbike fans and off road tourers from the end of the world. While we traveled through Chile from north to south we had a break in San Pedro de Atacama. It´s a good spot to chill in the hot climate, as well you can do a lot of outdoor activities. Like crossing a part of the desert by mountain bike for example. There are beautiful trails which offer a relatively bleak and monochrome landscape and provide in conjunction with the sun just a stunning picture. Of course, it is not nearly desolate, the mountain formations are just blatant. But the colors change accordingly to the sunlight and the overall scenario is very overwhelming. If you should do the same with a good mountain bike, remember that the “routes” are not always real routes.

Germany / StreetartFrom 2nd till 26th of June in Berlin around the Tauentzien Street the fantastic ALL WE WROTE open air exhibition took place with awesome urban artworks by 36 artists from five countries. You could travel through 50 years of graffiti culture while visiting Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, New York and São Paolo in one journey! With 1200 meters the huge gallery was the longest graffiti expo worldwide! The event was supported by URBAN CONTEMPORARY, CANION and BLVD KU’DAMM.

Culturists / Events / Music / SpainHow a good party should be: Good parties have to be badly organized, the guests should have to pay a lot for entrance, the DJs should get put on a podium for glory and there they should play a lot of same-sounding crap music over and over again. A drink should be at minimum 10 Euros and at least have some ingredients from the next street, toilet water and other indefinite moistures in it, and of course before serving it should get put in very high quality bottles with nice labels. But in the end it´s not about the drinks. It´s about the cool and high expensive and hipster outfit. And the fucking shoes….

Germany / StreetartThe magnificent artist INDIAN from Bad Vilbel has created a wonderful open air gallery on the sound barrier wall along Federal Highway B3 over many years, featuring countless fantastic and thought-provoking murals. His works are mostly a combination of portraits and poetic stories. He himself calls his art “philosophical graffiti,” and the respective works are created as part of the series “Was ist Liebe” or “What is Love” in English. In his works, he deals with life, humanity, and empathy, but also our connection to earth and the problems that arise from our alienation from nature.

Israel / Performance / SocialThis is the story of Shoshke. A super heroine brought to life. And it’s probably one of the weirdest and funniest but above all most motivating stories here on this channel so far. The creator himself, namely the Israeli artist Zeev Engelmayer repeatedly takes on the role of his self-designed comic super heroine. Then he just becomes Shoshke in a special costume. An idea for an artistic performance has developed into an unbridled dynamic of its own and an independent character within Zeev’s psyche. That´s Shoshke. It´s not schizophrenic, more like a symbiosis. Zeev loves it and he frequently is setting her free. Because Shoshke makes always and every few days crazy but fabulous actions. Currently, according to Marker Magazine “She” is one of the 100 most influential people in Israel. And we need some more Shoshkes on this world! She fights for the good and important things. Take some time for this article. It’s going to be strange and complex, but for sure as well funny and super interesting.

Chile / StreetartThe Metropolitan Technological University (UTEM) is a higher education institution founded in 1993. At the time these photographs were taken some courses such as design and art were taught at this study headquarters, which is why the entire building was covered in streetart. Today it houses the university’s administrative units and, therefore, graffiti, stencils and tags are no longer seen on its walls. Still you can admire those great artworks in our archive!

Germany / StreetartThe YAAM or „Young African Art Market“ was founded in 1994 and is run by the non profit organization “KULT – Verein für Jugendkultur e.V.”. The focus is on the Afro-Caribbean culture. The multicultural backgrounds of the contributors and friends are reflected in the music, sports program and food stalls as well as the art and atmosphere of the premises. It is a social place where the most diverse people have the opportunity to meet, express themselves artistically, work and celebrate together. Germany / StreetartAfter a long process, the GRAFFITI LOBBY BERLIN and the youth culture center DIE KLINKE were able to inaugurate a new Hall of Fame in Berlin’s Marzahn district in May 2021. The outer wall of the local fire station department was cleared for artistic designs and has been a legal hall ever since. The wall surface is around 4 meters high and around 30 meters long, ideal for graffiti jams and fantastic concept walls, which are created there again and again. The works in this creative space are usually masterpiece quality and well worth a visit.

France / StreetartThe Tête de Chien is a 550 meter high promontory near the small town of La Turbie which offers a spectacular view over Monaco and the French Riviera with the Côte d’Azur. The summit is also home to the Fort Masséna from the 18th century, which is well worth a visit if you are interested in history. But for urban art fans, the old barracks „Ruines de la Garnison de la Tête de Chien“ next to it are much more exciting. The walls of this lost place are filled with great graffiti, characters and abstract paintings.

Austria / Events / StreetartFrom 14th to 16th June 2023 the international graffiti symposium INDIGO took place in Vienna and we were invited to present our Vagabundler project! In the meantime, the videos of the individual presentations are online, including the one of us. In addition, a book will soon be printed with more papers, essays and contributions from the participants, and we will also be part of it. INDIGO is a graffiti centred academic project funded by the Heritage Science Austria programme of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). Check out the video and the report.

France / StreetartRunning parallel between Boulevard François Suárez and Impasse Fuon Santa in the Nice northern suburb called La Trinité there is the canal of the Vallon de Laghet river, which in some months carries very little or no water. The concrete channeled riverbed provides the perfect surface for graffiti and urban art and the Fuon Santa Hall of Fame has been created here over many years with a lot of really good pieces. On this epic spray oasis are countless graffiti accompanied by Gorilla Gangstas, Marty McFly from Back to the Future, Samouraïs or Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars.

Events / Germany / StreetartOn May 26th 2022, more than 40 urban artists redesigned parts of the North Side Gallery during the FATHER’S DAY JAM. Regardless of origin, socio-economic status and gender, the walls of the North Side Gallery, legalized by the GRAFFITI LOBBY BERLIN, were painted, glued and colourfully decorated together. Additionally the artist OLA from the STADTPIRATEN together with the artist DYSM diligently glued two large paste-up walls. Check out the huge photo gallery from the event!

BoliviaOn our route from Buenos Aires to the Titicaca lake in Bolivia we passed La Paz. With 750.000 habitants it´s the third biggest city in the country and the domicile of the government, the capital is Sucre. The town is constructed on an altitude between 3200 and 4100 meters into the mountains and you definitly can feel the thin air. But to get a better view you have to climb even higher on the hills and therefore you will get rewarded with a fabulous outlook. The architecture of the squeezed brick buildings extend as far as you can see.

That’s what the ARTBASE festival offered in 2019 on the grounds of the former Domjüch state mental institution in Neustrelitz. More than 150 international artists and five Berlin collectives designed the walls of the asylum from the inside and outside with breathtaking works of art.

France / StreetartFrom Rue de Villeneuve in the north of Nice, a single-lane road tunnel runs under the main train station to Avenue Durante in the south, the „Tunnel de la Gare“. Cars drive through it, but there is also a cycle lane and a walkway. For many years, pedestrians tended to avoid the tunnel because it was a dark and scary passageway, especially at night and it’s generally a bit weird around a central station anyway. But a little color and creativity could change that. The great local artist OTOM was commissioned by the City of Nice in spring of 2020 to create a mural throughout that tunnel and he developed a special concept for this named „Regards“.

Germany / StreetartIn September 2022 the awesome urban art event DAS DRECKIGE DUTZEND, or in English THE DIRTY DOZEN, took place in Frankfurt with their 9th spray session. This time more than 60 artists designed in total 230 meters of facade on several walls. Streetart / USAChinatown in San Francisco is the oldest and one of the largest Chinese neighborhoods in North America, known for its pagoda architecture and its historical significance as a center of Chinese immigration to the United States, which is still alive here today. It offers unique cultural experiences with restaurants, shops, temples, museums, teahouses, fortune cookie productions, and markets that celebrate Chinese culture and cuisine. San Francisco is also the birthplace of the famous Chinese-American actor and martial artist Bruce Lee, therefore many murals in Chinatown are dedicated to him and his wisdom.

South Korea / StreetartWe already showed you the streetart and figurative works from Itaewon, this time it is now about the graffiti. The district is one of the city’s party neighbourhood, with countless bars, clubs, and restaurants, and there is always something going on here around the clock. Compared to the more conservative cityscape, this district looks a little different and you can clearly see the international influences of the former US military base Yongsan. Accordingly, there is also a lot of graffiti and lettering pieces here, much more than anywhere else in the city, where graffiti is rather rare. Check out the great collection!

Mexico / StreetartOaxaca de Juárez is located in southern Mexico and is the capital of the state of Oaxaca. The city has a population of about 270.000, but the entire metropolitan area is home to significantly lot more people. More than 2.000 years ago the Zapotec culture developed in the region with its most important center being Monte Albán, located near the modern city. Today the city is best known for its colonial architecture, indigenous culture, and vibrant art scene. Of course this also includes thriving urban art covering numerous building walls.
