A wonderful ragbag for alternative travelers and fans of creativity, especially urban art. On this platform you can find interesting reportages, detailed country or city maps and coverages on awesome artists. There is a whole section about interviews with unique people and their amazing work, as well about crazy events and interesting sustaining projects from all around the world. Meanwhile we have more than 280.000 photos from 100 countries in our archive and we try to preserve some of this creativity with our documentation. All respect to the artists! As well to all the numerous people involved in this non profit project. We do this voluntarily because we love it and we want to support the art scene in general and socio-cultural understanding between us on this planet. If you find any mistakes or missing information, just send us a message. We are creating, building and changing on this website all the time – but – of course! Chile / NatureNahuelbuta is a word from Mapudungun that means Great Puma. Mapudungun is the language of the Mapuches, the inhabitants who lived in this region before the arrival of the Spanish in mid-16th century. The park that is only 37 km from the city of Angol, was created in 1939, and comprises a section of the Nahuelbuta Range, which in turn is part of Chile’s Coastal Mountain Range.

North Macedonia / StreetartThe comedy theatre TEATAR KOMEDIJA as a national institution was established in November 2011, and its official opening was marked by the premiere of the play „Ah, My Love“, directed by Kole Angelovski, on World Theatre Day at March 27th in 2012. Fantastic plays and creative projects are constantly being performed in this culture space. The building complex also serves as an urban art gallery and features countless beautiful murals on its facades. Additionally there are ateliers and studios around the permises, and also a bar and a cocktail lounge to have a relaxed break.

Events / Streetart / VietnamThe first ever street art and graffiti festival in Dà Nang, Vietnam, the NAM JAM is a celebration of creativity and community. The event, organized by local gallery and art collective NOT POP, transformed the village of Ngu Hanh Son in Đà Nang City early this year in spectacular style. In March 2023, the city hosted hot local and international street art talents with a variety of events, including live paintings, a skate jam, a gallery show and a well timed coincidental hip hop dance jam as part of the RF JAM a.k.a. RADIKAL FORZE JAM.

Events / Italy / StreetartOn the weekend of May 8th and 9th in 2021, the great URBAN JAM took place in Turin with three spray locations, 30 artists and 200 meters of running wall painted with bright colors and in a wide variety of styles. One location was Via Giacomo Dina, a second one was the large Hall of Fame at Parco Dora and another spot was at Corso Regina, where a special „Abstract vs Lettering“ action took place. The event was organized as a MURARTE project by the two art collectives IL CERCHIO E LE GOCCE and MONKEYS EVOLUTION with the support of the cultural association OFF TOPIC.

Events / Italy / StreetartIn October 2018 various graffiti artists from around the city came together to create a great collaboration tribute wall for the legendary sprayer NAPE, who died in 2018. The event with dedicated memorandum artworks took place as a MURARTE CLOSING PARTY and was organized by the creative collectives IL CERCHIO E LE GOCCE and MONKEYS EVOLUTION. The graffiti artist PIERO SPADAROTTO aka NAPE lived from 4th August 1980 to 6th September 2018 and was one of the most important graffiti writers from Italy.

Events / Germany / StreetartFrom 15th to 17th June in 2018, an extraordinary urban art spectacle took place right on the Weser River in the municipality of Lemwerder: the FARBFLUT FESTIVAL. More than 200 local, national, and international artists decorated the 920-meter-long and 3.5-meter-high flood protection wall on the western bank with countless magnificent works. This has created what is probably one of the largest open-air galleries in Germany, if not the largest, here in the Wesermarsch region. It’s called the WESER SIDE GALLERY.

Argentina / Sports / StreetartIn 2007 a group of local skaters started a movement to have their own space to practice their passion. They presented a project to the local municipality, and in 2011, a mega skate park was inaugurated in the Mataderos neighborhood of Buenos Aires! The design was created by specialized architects, and the construction was supervised by the Argentine Skateboarding Association. Besides the sports fun there are numerous fantastic graffiti and urban artworks around the area.

Austria / StreetartIf you find street art murals consisting of comic sausages, bananas or cucumbers, then these food graffitis in pop-up style are most likely made by the fantastic Austrian artist HNRX. In his pieces are often the ordinary things of everyday life which he combines on the motifs in a surreal, funny but also thought-provoking way. However, it is not only limited to fruits, vegetables and food, toothbrushes or dentures are also great on house walls. HNRX is continously developing and reinventing his style. From comic-like poster images to meanwhile detailed and complex abstract murals. Still the preference for everyday objects is a constant theme in his so-called „Deformatyons“.

Streetart / SwedenThe graffiti artist CABEL focuses on writing and letters, but he says that a good artist should be able to paint anything. Mostly it is his wildstyle name, but in addition to the great alphabetical formations, his art also includes a lot of times characters or a mixture of them in spacey atmospheres. History / UruguayAt this year’s South America Trip we also had a multi-day stop in the capital of Uruguay – Montevideo. The country is one of the smallest on the South American continent, but it has holiday opportunities fustdick behind the ears. The city is located at the mouth of the Río de la Plata and has about 1.3 million inhabitants. Buenos Aires in Argentina is on the other side of the river, actually only 213 kilometers as the crow flies. You can easily take ferries here, driving through countless boats. Incidentally, Montevideo celebrates the longest carnival in the world BEFORE Brazil and Rio. Maybe the one in Rio is bigger, but the one in Montevideo lasts longer … it goes on for a month …

Austria / StreetartThe Flex Hall of Fame is one of the first legal graffiti areas in Vienna and is located on the Danube Canal near Schottenring. This spot has been legal since around 1994, when the city of Vienna opened up the area for legal graffiti art. The name “Flex” comes from the legendary techno and electro club Flex. As well the various riverbank spaces and promenades around are open walls and approved for legal spraying, it’s a huge open-air gallery. The Donaukanal is also regularly a part of the awesome urban art festival CALLE LIBRE.

Germany / StreetartThe streetart photographer Alexej Roth from Heilbronn collected great photos of urban art during a trip to the town of Halle an der Saale, means next to the Saale river. Most of the artworks are located around Landsberg Street at the FREIRAUMGALERIE. For years the buildings around have been abandoned and the area was kind of a lost place. The artists brought life to it again. Not only with amazing paintings all over, there is even an artistic playground area where everybody can add some wood and be part of the creation process. It’s an alternative colorful place which you can admire by looking at, but further more the concept motivates you to take part in creating. Check out the photo gallery.

Design / Estonia / History / StreetartHere is an article for the streetart lovers, especially the fans of abandoned buildings and lost places. At the coast to the Eastern Sea between the Tallinna Sadam harbor and the Kultuurikatel, the culture center, there is the Linnahall located. It´s not really used anymore and this old Mayan pyramid like monument made of grey concrete just gives you some mysterious vibes. It could be as well kind of a medieval sea fortress to protect the coast with gunpowder cannons. But it´s not that old, it was just built in 1980 by the Estonian architects Raine Karp and Riina Altmäe.

Sculptor / TaiwanThe PIER 2 art quarter in Kaohsiung is not only famous for its large-scale streetart murals, there are also numerous sculptures, monuments and installations. In addition to individual events such as the FORMOSA SCULPTURE BIENNIAL, a big regualr event is the KAOHSIUNG INTERNATIONAL STEEL & IRON SCULPTURE FESTIVAL, or KISISF for short, which has been held every two years since 2002 and is officially organized by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs of the Kaohsiung City Government.

Events / Germany / StreetartMoabit shows flag! With cool music, graffiti and creative standing together against racism and discrimination heaps of artists participated at the „Anti Racism Jam 2022“, which took place from March 25th to 27th around the „Center for Art and Urbanism“ (ZK/U). The event was organized by the 21ER GALLERY and magnificent works of art were created over the three days on the large concept wall and on the facades of the Union Sports Hall. Nature / Sri LankaMirissa is located on the south coast of Sri Lanka and is a small surfing mecca, which is why you will find numerous surfboards in the water here, especially in the morning and evening hours. Due to a number of natural or man-made bays, different beaches have also been created, as well as small points of interest such as Coconut Tree Hill or Parrot Rock. Here is a collection of photos of the beaches and nature, but also of the street life and architecture of the city, from modern houses to ancient temples.

Belgium / StreetartAround 188,000 residents live in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, but the entire metropolitan region comprises around 1.2 million people. There is of course plenty to see, great art and culture, and also urban art. Especially the Comic Book Route shows a collection of murals with famous comic characters and scenes, also during the festivals BALKAN TRAFIK or LA BELLE HIP HOP several great artworks were made. In terms of architecture from older times, you should take a look at the Royal Palace, in contrast to the Atomium as a monument to progress and a remnant of the 1958 World Expo. The Grote Markt is certainly stylish and sublime again, as is the small, roguish Manneken Pis, a urinating landmark of the city that makes you smile.

Netherlands / StreetartA very cool new street art spot in the center of Amsterdam opened its doors not long ago! It’s called the Secret Garden and you can access this hidden gem via Nicholas Groente & Fruit at Sint Nicolaasstraat 19. It’s a cute little shop that sells high quality artisanal (food) products and art. As well they have comics, books, posters and prints. The lovely store is run by Brian and the little associated backyard gallery called Secret Garden has meanwhile 50 artworks and still counting! The entrance is free for everyone. Just ask for this creative place in the shop.

Spain / StreetartVillajoyosa, or in Valencian „La Vila Joiosa“, is a coastal town in the province of Alicante, with around 35.000 inhabitants. It is located on the Costa Blanca between Alicante and Benidorm, directly on the Mediterranean Sea. Main sights include the colorfully painted old town, the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the traditional fishing harbor, and the Valor Chocolate Museum. There are also great graffiti and streetart around town, especially the artist KAOS left some awesome creations, also PEDRO ARAGONES aka GONES has a whole street with several pieces.

Belgium / StreetartDoel is part of the municipality of Beveren in the Flemish province of East Flanders in Belgium. Plans to expand the huge closeby Antwerp Port to Doel and demolish the village have been in place since 1965. However, continuous protests by the villagers have prevented this so far. In the meantime, graffiti has been used as a helpful tool and the village declared itself as kind of an open urban art gallery. Of course this attracts a lot of artists from all around and also art loving visitors. Also since 2022 the fantastic DOEL FESTIVAL organized by PARADISE CITY and KLUB DRAMATIK takes place regularly with international djs, musicians and urban creators.

StreetartSanepa is a neighborhood in the northwestern part of Lalitpur, located along the Bagmati River at an elevation of approximately 1.310 meters. In the streets you can encounter interesting urban artworks of various forms; for instance the SATTYA MEDIA ARTS COLLECTIVE created one of its works here as part of the KOLOR KATHMANDU project, and the neighborhood was also home to the former ART LAB collective, but ROG with DEEP SOCIETY is now launching new projects in the premises; it also houses the creative clothing label and café space KASHYAPI.
