The streets of Kathmandu and Patan are lined with countless stores, handcraft workshops, and small retailers. Their corrugated roll-up doors are each adorned with logos and business names, but here in Nepal, these advertisements are still painted in selfmade processes. At first, we had only photographed a few of these intriguing shutters, but more and more were added, and so a whole collection of nearly 150 of these doors has now been created. It is certainly a noticeable and significant part of the street scene and urban landscape; moreover, aside from the commercial aspect, these are nonetheless painted graphics in urban space.
