Here we have the artworks from the NORTH WALL OF THE MIDDLE AREA at the FREILUFTGALERIE under the Friedensbrücke, which is a special creative space for urban art in Frankfurt. It’s not a legal wall where anyone can spray paint, the whole thing is regulated by NAXOS ATELIER and the group organizes painting events that take place at regular intervals or gives permission for artists to carry out creative actions. It is a very important place for Frankfurt for urban art and fantastic works by local artists as well as projects with national and international creatives are sprayed here time and again. The fact that it’s not a completely open wall means that the works stay there a lot longer, they don’t actually get painted over and that’s also a matter of respect. But great new concept walls are created every few months. The released walls refer to the first two northern bridge pillars, that is the north wall of the first pillar where the old tracks to the Osthafen still pass, between the south side of this pillar wall and the north side of the next pillar there is a basketball field, and another included wall part is on the south side of the second pillar, where the skate park under the bridge is also located, which is managed by CONCRETE SKATE. So you see, graffiti, basketball, skateboarding, surrounded by the river Main, it’s just a cool sporty-creative atmosphere and there’s a lot going on here. Before the bridge crosses the Main, there is another pillar, but actually this is not part of the legal open wall space. Nevertheless, there is a lot of graffiti being painted there, the photos of this spot can be found under Friedensbrücke North.
