CHILE: Streetart Angol - Ocalindo 1365 - El Chavito - KARZON

KARZON unleashed his imagination to create three murals on the façades of the El Chavito supermarket. On Ocalindo Street, where the west façade is smaller, the artist created one mural. On the other hand, Manuel Blanco Encalada Street has a longer façade of the supermarket, so KARZON was able to create two murals there.

This façade of the El Chavito supermarket is longer, allowing KARZON to create two distinct murals, both related to Angol. The first is a mural of the Canteras de Deuco, a landscape and beauty created by man. Here, KARZON recreated an elevated view of the Canteras de Deuco.

KARZON’s second mural depicts the feat of Chilean Army Captain Alberto Larraguibel (born in Angol) and his horse Huaso, who together set the world record for jumping by horse, record set in 1952. The mural shows the rider and horse in three positions: first, facing the jump; second, the horse’s push-off after ascending and facing the jump; third, Captain Larraguibel and his horse Huaso are seen falling 2.47 meters after clearing the jump. Below, their military comrades watch the achievement while music band celebrates the new world record.

The south façade of the El Chavito supermarket is shorter, which only allowed Karzon to paint one mural. And what could be more beautiful and be part of Angol than painting the Nahuelbuta National Park, specifically the La Piedra del Águila area, a place with a viewpoint that offers views of the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean from this tourism spot. The mural also depicts the nature of this pristine Araucaria Araucana forest, along with endemic animals and flora, such as the reptile and spider seen perched on a rock. KARZON uses intense colors, with various shades of green to recreate the forest. KARZON also painted a blue sky embellished with a few clouds.
