In 2024 the KATHMANDU METROPOLITAN CITY aka KMC launched an official mural program in collaboration with the NEPAL ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS aka NAFA, which included the creation of the sports murals at the Dasarath Rangasala Stadium. Artists were selected and commissioned by the city to paint these murals, with support from NAFA and financial assistance from KMC. A fantastic concept mural wall has also been created along Sundhara Road near the Dharahara Tower, featuring cultural motifs depicting the city’s people and historic landmarks. According to media reports, the city allocated approximately 5 million Nepalese rupees for this and other murals in the project series. Additional works can be found at Saraswati Park or in the neighborhoods of Maitighar, Babar Mahal, Min Bhawan, Baneshwor and Lainchour.
