SOUTH KOREA: Streetart Daegu – Nam-gu District – Graffiti and Urban Art at Apsan Mountain

Nam-gu District is one of Daegu’s centrally located districts and combines on its area urban life with nature and culture. The name “Nam-gu” literally means literally “South District”. With an area of approximately 17.4 km², it is one of Daegu’s smaller districts and is divided into 13 administrative neighborhoods, the so called „dongs“. Apsan Mountain is particularly well-known; it is a popular destination featuring hiking trails, lookout points, and a cable car from which visitors can enjoy a sweeping view of Daegu. Nam-gu also offers traditional markets, culinary streets, and cultural attractions, making the district a diverse destination for visitors. Although it is primarily a residential district, you’ll still find countless works of urban art here; especially at schools and children’s facilities, you can see large murals and wall paintings featuring colorful scenes and lots of funny characters.
