The little village is located in the province of Guanentá at an altitude of about 1280 and close to San Gil. It´s a perfect dinner stop when you travel between Venezuela and Colombia. The colonial architecture is unique and well preserved. Here you can imagine how it was some centuries ago, the buildings and plazas didn´t change much. Around the city are wonderful mountains to explore, several hike routes are possible. If you are in a rush, stay the afternoon, try the Hormigas and check out the pueblo. If you have more time, stay for one or two nights. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...

Malta / StreetartApart from the promenade, Manoel Island and Duck Village, the district G?ira is rather bare when it comes to street art and graffiti. You find really little, but a few spots are therefore super nice. There is definitely the JUNGLE JOY bar in the Triq L-Msida 2 to mention. The alternative and cosy shop always has good music and the local artist COOKER has painted the interior and part of the exterior facade with colourful jungle animals. At the Bubble Tea Shop GOG on the promenade of G?ira, COOKER has also conjured up a grandiose mural featuring a psycho rabbit. The exact address is 133 The Strand. Right around the corner in Strand Hotel in 115 there is also an interesting painting in the lobby. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...

Germany / Painter / PerformanceWalking cyborg creatures, pixeled astronauts or simply diagonally painted bodies – the wacky performances of the artist collective “Die Segel“ from Frankfurt are breathtaking productions that captivate visitors in a flood of impressions. The costumes are elaborately selfmade and seem to come from another world, self-composed music plays on the stage and the performers are illuminated with self-produced projections during their performance. It is about breaking down boundaries and playing with images and shadows. Emotional perception also plays an important role, feeling and sensing, connecting the senses and above all, stimulating reflection. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
Design / Sri LankaThe buses and large vehicles for public transportation in Sri Lanka look more or less similar as in other countries in terms of size and construction, but the exterior design is simply unique. Most countries tend to use conservative designs for their public transport buses, like single-colored vehicles with a discreet logo. Things are completely different in Sri Lanka, where the buses are awesome true works of art. Those mostly Indian Ashok Leyland are colorfully upgraded and shine bright in every corner, not only on the outside but also on the inside. The more color, the better. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...

Serbia / StreetartThe fantastic painter and muralist ARTEZ creates huge artworks at lofty heights in Belgrade and around the whole world. His motifs often show people in everyday situations including creative abstractions that blend vibrant imagery with narrative depth. Instead of a head, a figure is sometimes given a watering can or a bush. The works transform boring, dull facades into pleasant glimpses of a neighborhood living room. Check out the interview with the great artist! >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
Malta / Nature / SocialManoel Island in the bay of G?ira is not the highlight of the city, but worth a visit for a short walk. There is a small fort, a bathing spot popular with locals and otherwise closed ruins or construction sites. The excursion was really nothing special and in absolutely hot heat we also missed the bathing spot. For a short inbetween visit you can pass by the spot, but you should not necessarily do this at noon time because there´s no shade at all. But you will get a nice view of Valletta and Sliema over the water. In addition shortly after the bridge to the island, there is the lovingly and creatively assembled Duck’s Village, which now houses not only ducks, but many other bird species and even hares and guinea pigs. Just like the motto: All Animals in Harmony. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
Design / JapanJapan is just an awesome country, we really had an astonishing trip. The food is fantastic and the culture has a lot to offer. We have been so excited about all this „Japanese-Difference“… we went some kind of crazy… I don´t know how to describe it, it was like a „Japan-Obsession“. All these exotic signs, the loony pictures and the heaps of wacky things, which we saw and experienced there. For them normal, for us completely new, strange and fascinating. After a while we just have been overexcited about actually EVERYTHING. We were enthusiastic about the famous Samurai sites, about the great architecture and the wonderful gardens. But then we went as well mad in photographing soda machines, street signs and even manhole covers. It just all looks so stylish. Probably it would be different, if we could read the letters, but without that knowledge even „Please don´t park here“ looked like an amazing artwork. >>> READ MORE [...] Read more...
