A wonderful ragbag for alternative travelers and fans of creativity, especially urban art. On this platform you can find interesting reportages, detailed country or city maps and coverages on awesome artists. There is a whole section about interviews with unique people and their amazing work, as well about crazy events and interesting sustaining projects from all around the world. Meanwhile we have more than 280.000 photos from 100 countries in our archive and we try to preserve some of this creativity with our documentation. All respect to the artists! As well to all the numerous people involved in this non profit project. We do this voluntarily because we love it and we want to support the art scene in general and socio-cultural understanding between us on this planet. Chile / StreetartDYRE is a graffiti artist who makes flops and tags. Sometimes he uses DIRE because it fits better with the style he is working on. His team is the fabulous Eskritores Graffiti Crew aka EKR. The artist lives now in the Chilean city of Angol due to his job as a risk manager working in a forestry company. Finland / StreetartThe Finnish border town of Tornio is basically part of a twin city that is closely connected to its Swedish counterpart Haparanda. The Swedish-Finnish border runs right through the middle of the town. This article is about urban art on the Finnish side of Tornio. The whole area is very famous for salmon fishing, because it is a major breeding and passing ground for these animals. But it is also a place of creative “breeding” and development of art and paint on the walls. Especially the HORIZONT collective has done its best with many artworks to make the streets more colorful.

Germany / StreetartThe Hall of Fame of the Mierendorf Insel is a legal graffiti space at Lise-Meitner Street 50 in the Berlin district Charlottenburg. At this spot continously magnificent works of art are getting created by the top artists. During the last years we photographed heaps of awesome creations and documented numerous jams and spray sessions. Check out the huge archive with more than 130 artists and several thousand photos.

Events / Germany / StreetartFrom September 13th to September 15th in 2024, the great BÜLOW STREET FESTIVAL took place along Bülowstrasse and around the URBAN NATION headquarters and museum. The entire façade was redesigned with fresh colors by the New York artist LADY PINK, and guests could also admire a colorful and extensive exhibition with “floating murals” on temporarily installed walls. An extensive and diverse program was offered over three days with creative participation activities, music on stage and culinary delicacies at food stalls. The decaying charm of some buildings contributes very well to highlighting the art even more. Many local artists, painters and graphic artists are at work here. But international artists also have spots in the heart of Porto. In addition to the azulejos, which are already great art in themselves, the open-air galleries expand and open up the cultural horizon of the city. Both for tourists and locals., a city with so much quality also needs a street art scene of the extra class. That’s what Porto can do. Serbia / StreetartThe “Fakultet Muzi?ke Umetnosti” or in English “Faculty of Music” in Belgrade is the main state and the most prominent higher education music institution in Serbia, continuously existing since its foundation in 1937. The faculty is built with one side of the wall facing Teatar Bojan Stupica and the south side facing Manjež Park. And those facades and walls to the park are covered lengthwise with graffiti and great street art. Check out the artworks collection!

Germany / Mexico / StylistI followed the photos of this fascinating artist lady on Instagram or Facebook for quite a while and always I thought those pictures are just damn cool, also very weird and often like from another world. The actress and creator of these scenarios with super stylish portraits is Dulce Ramirez. She currently lives in Heilbronn in Germany, but is actually from Mexico City. When she left her country about ten years ago, she did not only bring the cultural memory of the „Dia de los Muertos“, that means the „Day of the Dead“, but she also incorporated this theme into her art projects out of missing her home and from these first sparks of artistic development she designed a complete fashion queen of another kind. Namely herself: Mujer Gato. She’s weird, dark, interesting, different.

Accommodation / Nature / South AfricaWildlife viewing of the savannah: We made another stop on our safari tour through the northeast of South Africa at Andy’s camp in the Ukhozi Nature Reserve. A cozy lodge with a collection of small tent sheds for a handful of visitors. The great thing about this camp is its location on a hill with a perfect view of a waterhole below. In the morning, at lunchtime and especially in the evening, the entire animal landscape of the area appears alternately there. Everyone has a thirst, especially when it’s so hot.

South America / Streetart / UruguayOn the first glance you could assume that the place is somewhere around the Baltic or at the Wadden Sea. The architecture doesn´t really look very South American. As well there is this huge but small white lighthouse, which reminds more on Denmark or the German Otto comedy movies. But the palms, the warm climate and the high waves will disabuse you. La Paloma is located at the southeastern coast of Uruguay and it´s covered with awesome paintings, fantastic streetart and hidden graffiti. Sculptor / South Korea / StreetartThe Yangnim-dong neighborhood in Gwangju, better known as Penguin Village is a creative art space close to the west bank of the Gwangjucheon river. The community is a small, creative enclave in Gwangju. It emerged from an old residential area dating back to the 1970s and 1980s, which residents transformed into a sort of open-air exhibition. The name “Penguin Village” comes from the fact that older residents with knee problems resembled penguins when they walked. Today, the village is known for its colorful murals, artwork made from recycled objects, and an unusual, nostalgic atmosphere.

Streetart / SwedenThe great creative JONATHAN JOSEFSSON aka OLLIO is probably one of the most important artists and cultural connectors for the Gothenburg urban art scene in recent years or even decades. Not only as an abstract painter and sprayer he creates astonishing formations that can embellish a small canvas as well as a whole block of houses. Britain / Comic / Events / IllustrationThe illustrator and graphic designer Junior Tomlin from London did some of the most iconic and legendary cover artworks for the rave and electronic music scene back in the 80s and 90s up till today. On 5th of June his new book “Junior Tomlin: Flyer & Cover Art” will get released which documents across 160 premium paper pages his work with commentary and draft sketches about thirty years of party scene. Junior is of course still doing his fabulous artworks and visuals, but meanwhile he can look on a huge variety of projects in many different fields like movies or covers for the music branch, he colored comics for Marvel, DC or Panini, was involved in Action Man and Judge Dredd animations, designed vector arts, invented innovative logos and even started sculpturing.

Germany / StreetartThe former seat of the State Central Administration of Statistics (SZS) of the GDR became the property of the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks (BIMA) with the reunification of Germany. After the fall of the Wall, the “Haus der Statistik” (=House of Statistics) was used, among other things, by the office of the Federal Commissioner for the records of the State Security Service, also known as the Gauck or later Birthler authority. The authorities stayed there until 2008. Since then, the 45,000 m² building complex has been vacant. Till the artists came… Meanwhile it has become an amazing art paradise full of great works and new creations are constantly being created here nearly every day. France / StreetartIn the eastern part of Nice is the Saint Augustin district with a huge industrial area around the airport. The depots and factories of MIN and Manakin Fleurs, a flower warehouse with distribution to the end stores, are also located there. It is a large hall complex surrounded by many other companies. But the special thing about this location is that it is also home to two fabulous artists‘ studios, namely those of FABEN and AROKE. They also received permission to redesign the walls on the dull and boring gray surfaces. This is how the MIND ART DISTRICT was gradually created.

Albania / SocialThere is a lot going on at the moment in Albania and overall in the capital Tirana. You see construction all over the country, buildings and new infrastructure just pop up everywhere from the ground, you just can see the development during the process. The country receives a lot of input, support and money from the EU especially for restoring and renovating the UNESCO heritages, for new roads and new facilities, as well tourism-oriented projects, to get the economy running. They are building everywhere you look. And they are not just behaving like there would be some construction, it really gets build and this happens fast.

Cyprus / StreetartCertainly the largest Hall of Fame in Limassol is located in the riverbed of the Amathos River, also called Yermasoyia. The river only carries water seasonally during the winter months and has been used as a large parking lot in the summer since the 1980s, but now also hosts regular events, races and parades. The banks and bridges of the river bed are decorated with countless graffiti for several kilometers along the streets Christaki Kranou and Amerikanas up to the mouth into the sea. From big to small, from good to bad, from King to Toy. The creations also look really interesting with running water.

Argentina / StreetartThe highway construction in low level, “El Paso Bajo”, carried out on Francisco Beiró Avenue and the Urquiza railroad tracks in Buenos Aires, has four traffic lanes, two by hand, and a pedestrian crossing. This traffic complex was baptized Gustavo Cerati and therefore painted by artist MARCO HEIS with wonderful images of the famous singer. After a vote in which 177,594 residents participated, 68,438 chose to honor Gustavo Cerati, the late leader of Soda Stereo, while that 60,247 favored Carlitos Balá, and 48,909 did so for Julio Cortázar.

Serbia / StreetartIn Novi Sad between the streets Bulevar Despota Stefana, Fruškogorska, Most Slobode and Sun?ani Kej is the soccer pitch and sports center of the local soccer club FC Kabel and other sports associations. The field is completely surrounded by a long wall and is perfect for graffiti. This huge area is the Kabel Hall of Fame and jams and sessions take place here regularly, the STREEWISE association in particular organizes happenings and new works are created regularly.

Germany / StreetartThe HEIMFELD HALL on Bostelbeker Deich in the Hamburg district of Harburg is the largest and most important Hall of Fame in Northern Germany, with almost 1,150 meters of wall facade. The space is curated by the GroßStadtRaum association, which also regularly organizes urban art events. Countless fantastic graffiti is constantly being created here, but the real standouts are the Kings‘ large concept walls like „Avengers“, „Poseidon“ or „Neptun“. We’ve created an extensive archive, which continously gets filled with photos of these awesome works.

Ethiopia / Painter / SculptorThe fantastic artist YABSRA AYELE from the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa works across multiple disciplines, combining various materials and techniques. It’s hard to categorize him because he does everything from canvases to wood or metal, including sculptures, and he combines all these materials, piecing them together into a new collage. Beneath the surface and behind the scenes, there are always deeper underlying themes and socially critical messages.
