A wonderful ragbag for alternative travelers and fans of creativity, especially urban art. On this platform you can find interesting reportages, detailed country or city maps and coverages on awesome artists. There is a whole section about interviews with unique people and their amazing work, as well about crazy events and interesting sustaining projects from all around the world. Meanwhile we have more than 280.000 photos from 100 countries in our archive and we try to preserve some of this creativity with our documentation. All respect to the artists! As well to all the numerous people involved in this non profit project. We do this voluntarily because we love it and we want to support the art scene in general and socio-cultural understanding between us on this planet. If you find any mistakes or missing information, just send us a message. We are creating, building and changing on this website all the time – but – of course! Nicaragua / StreetartSan José del Sur is a small rural village with approximately 1.000 inhabitants in the southeast of Ometepe Island. Historically, the village is one of the many small settlements that developed on Ometepe in pre-Hispanic times. As well San José del Sur offers a picturesque location on the shores of Lake Nicaragua with views of the Maderas volcano and other landscapes on the island. And naturally beautiful art can also be found here in the streets and on the walls of the houses.

Cuba / StreetartHavana is the capital of the Caribbean island nation of Cuba with approximately 1.8 million inhabitants. Worth seeing are the old town with its architecture from the Spanish colonial period of the 16th century, the Castillo de la Real Fuerza fortress with its maritime museum, the Capitol from the 1920s, and the Catedral de San Cristóbal. And, of course, the streets and walls of the houses are also filled with colorful works!

Events / Norway / StreetartTromsø is located beyond the Arctic Circle, has around 77.000 inhabitants and is known as the „Gateway to the Arctic“. Recommendable sights are the Arctic Cathedral, the Polar Museum and the views from the Fjellheisen cable car, but Tromsø is also a hub for contemporary urban culture. A particularly significant event is the ARCTIC JAM, which includes a streetart festival organized annually by the artist collective THE ARCTIC WRITERS. The happening encompasses not only streetart and graffiti, but also breakdance battles, hip-hop workshops, and dance performances.

South America / Streetart / UruguayOn the first glance you could assume that the place is somewhere around the Baltic or at the Wadden Sea. The architecture doesn´t really look very South American. As well there is this huge but small white lighthouse, which reminds more on Denmark or the German Otto comedy movies. But the palms, the warm climate and the high waves will disabuse you. La Paloma is located at the southeastern coast of Uruguay and it´s covered with awesome paintings, fantastic streetart and hidden graffiti. We brought you nice photo material from our last trip to the little chillspot. It´s an insider tip for surfer, artists and mountainbiker.

Architecture / USAOur visit was just awesome! Thanks a lot to crazy and surprisefull taxi drivers, to fantastic cheese cake bakers, to great stand up comedians and definitely for sure thanks a lot for cinema pass out places when they are needed! Sorry for the snorring! ? But the Lincoln movie is quite a long one and even without the New York nightlife we would have fallen asleep in those cozy cinema seats. Architecture / Norway / StreetartNorway is a rich country where prosperity and quality of life are tangible and visible. The neighbourhood Frogner is the best example of this. Noble and sublime is the central district of Oslo. For us it was the starting point of our ventures in the city and a very good choice. In Frogner we resided and rented for seven days. This had many advantages and good reasons and this choice was really well made in retrospect. Accommodation and flights were in themselves very cheap compared to the cost of living in the city. This was probably a pure stroke of luck in the run-up to the event.

The graffiti seeker is currently filling the Hamburg Streetart Map with beautiful photo material! Events / Germany / StreetartThe HOLA UTOPIA! urban art festival is actually based in Hannover and enriches the city every year with many great works. There in 2024 it took place from August 19th to 25th, but also for the first time as an offshoot in the city of Braunschweig, around 70 km to the east. From September 16th to 22nd, local and international artists painted Braunschweig’s city facades with colorful murals and wall paintings. Check out the great artworks!

Africa / Ghana / SocialThe Nursing and Health Assistant Training School Teshie (HATS, Teshie) was instituted on 28th January 2008 due to the ministry of health decision to train a middle level cadre to assist the professional nurse in carrying out her duties, and to contribute to the improvement of the staffing situation in the clinical area. One of the tutors – Sandra Opoku – took part at the HITA midwife exchange programme in 2014 and went to Germany for three month. Currently she is teaching at Teshie. As a school their mission is to train competent middle level cadre nurses who will contribute creditably to the health care delivery in Ghana through promotive, preventive and curative services. The school started under a canopy with a teaching staff of four, one non teaching staff and a student numerical strength of seventy-two. Currently, the school has ten staff members with eight teaching staff and three non-teaching staff. The motto for the school is “Service to humanity”.

Streetart / SwedenThe former Wargöns AB paper mill is located on the Göta Älv river in the southwest of Sweden near the municipality of Vargön. After its closure in 2008, a large part of the building complex was demolished, but the entrance portal with the wolf in the firm emblem still shows witness to the former company. Therefore, the place is also called “Wolf Island”. Today, the site is a mysterious and almost magical lost place, covered from top to bottom with countless pieces of graffiti and streetart. Germany / StreetartThe magnificent artist INDIAN from Bad Vilbel has created a wonderful open air gallery on the sound barrier wall along Federal Highway B3 over many years, featuring countless fantastic and thought-provoking murals. His works are mostly a combination of portraits and poetic stories. He himself calls his art “philosophical graffiti,” and the respective works are created as part of the series “Was ist Liebe” or “What is Love” in English. In his works, he deals with life, humanity, and empathy, but also our connection to earth and the problems that arise from our alienation from nature.

Events / Streetart / SwedenThe NO LIMIT urban art festival is an awesome event that has brought countless great artists from Sweden and from all over the world to the city of Borås since it’s first edition in 2014. The event was initiated by the artist SHAI DAHAN together with the project HEY BORÅS and the city of Borås. The town with 114.000 inhabitants is filled with countless works of creativity in urban space, whether huge-scale murals, filigree works on street corners or sculptures and monuments. In 2020 they also collaborated with ARTSCAPE and organized an even bigger event. Check out the awesome artworks from the previous years!

Portugal / StreetartOlhão is located in southern Portugal on the Algarve coast and has approximately 14.000 inhabitants. Worth seeing are the impressive 17th-century Baroque church, Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, and the replica of the historic fishing boat Caíque Bom Sucesso in the harbor, which undertook a legendary voyage from Portugal to Brazil in 1808. Urban art enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy, as the entire town is covered in graffiti, portraits and murals, especially by the fantastic artist DARIO SILVA aka SEN, who has almost single-handedly painted the streets with countless works and even a whole old church. This is why it is often nicknamed „SEN CITY“.

Sri Lanka / TattooThe creative artist KENNY ADAMS from Sri Lanka started drawing already as a child, initially with pens and brushes on paper. Time passed, he kept on painting, but meanwhile preferably on human skin. Starting out as a single tattoo artist, he has built up an entire collective and network under MODERN TATTOO, which currently consists of four studios around the country. Additionally he also runs a supply service for tattoo equipment. We spoke to the versatile artist in an interview about the tattooing, the development of his projects and his vision for Sri Lanka’s tattoo culture.

Albania / StreetartFabulous travel photographer and world explorer Praxinho aka Praxi Deluxe brought some awesome photo material from his journey to the Albanian capital Tirana. Since 2018 the fantastic MURAL FEST TIRANA takes place in the streets and numerous artists from all around the globe have been invited in the previous years. This great event is hosted annually by the local art agency DEKORI with its director Henril Cule and with support by 167/B STREET. In the city you can find as well many old fashioned artworks from decades ago in mosaic style. Events / StreetartA visit to the Historisches Museum Saar on Saarbrücken’s Schlossplatz is the perfect complement to the “Urban Art Biennale” on the Hüttenfabrik museum grounds and in the city center of Völklingen. The special exhibition “Illegal” can be seen there from 18th May 2024 until 23rd February 2025, in which a selection of pieces by 123 national and international artists presents key works and never-before-shown rarities, all of which were created illegally directly for an audience on the street, all of which are characteristic of the prehistory and later development of streetart and graffiti in the USA and Europe.

Spain / StreetartThe “Drassanes Reials de Barcelona” are the former royal shipyards of the Middle Ages. Now there is a historical maritime museum for the history enthusiasts and for the urban art fans the place has something great to offer as well. Events / North Macedonia / StreetartIn July 2023, an 80-metre-long school wall in Skopje became a shared canvas between artists from two countries. The first SPREJ GRAD JAM brought street artists from Nuremberg and Skopje together, combining their different styles in a fantastic open-air gallery. Blending graffiti, the long-standing partnership and the memory of the 1963 earthquake, the project brought art and history together, and laid the foundation for continued jam exchange between the two cities.
