Along the tracks of Verona Porta Nuova station on Stradone Santa Lucia street, there is a huge graffiti wall almost a kilometer long with numerous fantastic works that change again and again. The fantastic TOP 2 BOTTOM graffiti jam organized by the ASSOCIAZIONE STREET SCALIGERA has also been held here in 2019 and 2023, where countless artists came together for a memorial day in honor of the artist NAPE, who died in 2018, and dedicate several works to him. PIERO SPADAROTTO aka NAPE lived from 4th August 1980 to 6th September 2018 and was one of the most important graffiti writers in Verona. We have a collection of works on this wall from the jam, but also some that were created apart from the event. The images were taken by street art hunter and photographer ALBERT PALSGRAAF. The ASSOCIAZIONE STREET SCALIGERA about their agenda: The Scaligera Street Association intends to systematize street art, giving Verona a new en plein air, diffuse, constantly changing museum to enrich the city with works of art, in synergy with the Administration and private sponsors. Verona can compare itself with metropolises such as London, Paris and Berlin, which have had their own street art map for years; the plan is to transform city areas into an ultra-contemporary open-air museum, an attractive hub of urban art on par with what is happening on the streets around the world. In the not-so-distant future, while a street artist, perhaps an international one, paints dozens of meters of wall, exhibition spaces could host indoor exhibits, bringing cultural institutions into dialogue with the spontaneous world of urban art.
