CANADA: Streetart Montréal – Muralfestival – Annual Artist Gallery
The Muralfestival in Montréal is the greatest urban art festival in town and provides annually brilliant creations in innercity space. Since 2012 when the first event took place for three days there are local and international artists invited to leave artful beautifications in the city scenery. Every year the area around Saint-Laurent Boulevard changes into a creative festival area, meanwhile for eleven days. This unique artistic gathering is focused to blend creation of large-scale works and lasting transformations of the urban landscape. There are not only fantastic live painting actions going on, as well cool music concerts and interesting culture events take place, there are workshops, artist talks, partys and of course great food! Here you can find the artworks sorted by year and artists, as well we added some videos to get a closer look. Definitely check out their website and their channels, there is heaps of other interesting stuff. If you like streetart and graffiti, you will love it! They combine colour and messages, art and issues, entertainment and movement. Big respect to the organisators and artists to make this event happen every year!
Muralfestival about its concept: „Since its founding in 2012, the Muralfestival mission has been to democratize urban art. What began as a love letter from Montréal to the world, the festival has grown into a unique international celebration of the arts, with its own distinctive DNA. Each new edition of the festival brings together street artists, art enthusiasts and the curiousity to assemble for what’s new and relevant in urban culture.“
