SOUTH KOREA: Streetart Jeonju – Graffiti and Urban Art in Jeollabuk-do Province

Jeonju has about 660,000 inhabitants, is the center of Jeollabuk-do province and is located about 230 km south of the national capital Seoul. The city is quite famous and popular because of its large and well-preserved Hanok Village in historical architectural style, but especially the more hidden Jaman Mural Village is even more worth seeing for fans of urban art. Several great festivals and art events take place in Jeonju throughout the year, often combining ancient creativity with modern innovation, such as a Taekwondo-K-Pop performance or a show by flag-wavers marching through the streets. There is also a small but energetic underground culture and the URBANSTRIKERS are active here with a local group as well. More articles on the several attractions and actors mentioned will follow soon. But on this page we will show you a collection of urban artworks throughout the city, from graffiti and street art to tiles and electricity boxes.
