The western battery is one of the four forts of the Swinoujscie fortress and was built between 1856 and 1861, consisting of a single-storey redoubt with a square ground plan. Its task was to defend the harbor against enemy ships. In the meantime, the site has become a historical museum for interested visitors, but art has also found its way in. Exhibitions are held there time and again, there are installations in a lost place atmosphere and artists bring color to the walls. Often legally, but also secretly as an addition. The place is magical and fascinating, also the architectural buildings from the past and the various works of art that have been placed there.
