Dzierżoniów is a mountain town in Poland’s Lower Silesian Voivodeship in the northeastern foothills of the Owl Mountains. The place was created before 1230 and was first mentioned in 1250. Worth seeing are the parish church of St. George, the Augustinian monastery, the historic city wall complex or the imposing town houses on the ring road from the 19th century with creative facade decorations. Toruń is located in the Polish voivodeship Kujawsko-Pomorskie and has about 200,000 inhabitants. The old town was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, worth seeing are also the seat of the Voivodeship Parliament, the University of Toruń, the Roman Catholic Bishopric and overall the buildings in the city held in North German Brick Gothic.

The Polish city of Lubin has around 74,000 inhabitants and is located on the Zimmica river northwest of Wrocław. It is the district town of the Powiat Lubinski and is the largest industrial location in Lower Silesia. Worth seeing are the Gothic castle ruins of Castellum Lubinum, the old town with various chapels and half-timbered houses and the town wall with the Glogauer Tortur. Of course, you can also find street art, graffiti and beautiful murals around town.

Warsaw University Library Roof Garden

The Warsaw University Library roof garden was designed by the landscape architect Irena Bajerska and opened in 2002. The area is 1 hectare and it has beautiful views of the River Vistula and the city of Warsaw. There are symbolic themes and the planting is lush on a 300mm layer of soil. The library building has green walls and large wall teblets with mathematical formulas, musical scores and famous quotations in various alphabets. It is an excellent example of how publicly accessible greensapce can be made at roof level.
