Paphos is a city on the southwest coast of Cyprus with a population of around 65.000 people in the wider urban area. Paphos is especially famous for its rich history and archaeological sites, many of which date back to ancient Greek and Roman times. The city was once the capital of Cyprus during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. One of its most famous attractions is the Archaeological Park of Paphos, which is known for its well-preserved Roman mosaics. Paphos is also traditionally associated with Aphrodite, the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty. In 1980, the archaeological sites of Paphos were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city is also home of the STREET ART SQUARE FESTIVAL, which had is first edition in 2015.
