Pano Panagia is a small mountain village in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located in the Troodos Mountains at an altitude of around 850 metres. The village has a population of approximately 500 inhabitants and is surrounded by forests, vineyards and traditional Cypriot landscapes. It is known for its peaceful atmosphere and traditional stone houses. Pano Panagia is also closely connected to the history of Archbishop Makarios III, the first President of the Republic of Cyprus, who was born in the village in 1913. His former home has been preserved as a small museum. The area around Pano Panagia is also known for wine production, particularly the local Maratheftiko grape variety. Compared with larger cities such as Paphos, Pano Panagia does not have a large street-art or graffiti scene. Instead, the village is characterised by traditional architecture, religious buildings and local crafts.
