Vida simple, pensamiento elevado
This monumental mural by AISLAP, which is a graffiti duo formed by PABLO ARAVENA aka AIS and JUAN MORAGA aka SLAP, was in a property that was replaced by a new building that now houses the La Cisterna House of Culture, inaugurated in December 2014. However, the mural was made in July 2009 and the photographs were taken in September 2010.
The mural was called “Vida simple, pensamiento elevado”, which means in English “Simple Living, Higher Thinking”. The characters hanging from the wrists of each arm are supposed to represent both artists.
AISLAP or AYSLAP has been nurtured and studied the techniques of Mexican muralism, especially from DIEGO RIVERA and DAVID ALFARO SIQUEIROS, and street graffiti, principally influenced by the Chilean crew BRIGADA RAMONA PARRA or in short BRP.
