SALAZART clearly incorporates his feelings and thoughts in the walls, reflecting the harsh reality experienced in shanty towns around southern suburbs of Santiago. In the first mural, which is only a few meters from the other mural, we see two children from LA POBLACIÓN (the shanty town), as the letters on the stencil on the left side say.
Both children with a sad expression, full of shortcomings, but with the hope of the OPORTUNIDAD (the opportunity, written on the older child’s shirt) that the future holds.
The second mural shows a young man named Sain, as it says below SALAZART’s tag. In both murals the suffering of those who live in marginal neighborhoods is captured.
SALAZART expresses very well in graffiti the social awareness of the daily life of those who suffer from that reality. The photographs were taken on February 2010.
