This mural, created collectively by DYRE, ZEN and GATA CHINA, was painted in 2021. The place is near the tracks where the train used to arrive in Angol in the 1970’s. More than five years after its creation, the mural still displaying its original colors. Time has not taken its toll yet. The mural begins with a deep blue “flop” by DYRE, featuring waves that evoke the sea, along with flashes of green. DYRE makes sure to include his own tag, as well as that of his crew – the EKR CREW aka ESKRITORES – on both the far left and far right sides of the mural.
ZEN’s contribution to this collective mural is his character, Smile, positioned in the center of the mural. Smile is shown wearing an attractive hat and holding a spray can, suggesting that he is the one who painted DYRE’s flop. On the hand of the character, the tags “Smile” and “Zen” are inscribed. The final section of the mural is a piece by Gata China, in which she recreates her character, Macetero, with a carnivorous plant growing from its skull. Gata China embellishes the character with sparkles and tags painted all around it, as well in a nostalgic tribute style to the legendary Super Mario games.
