This bus stop, created by PAULA AURORA and RAMS, is a tribute to Dillman S. Bullock (1878-1971), who arrived from the USA in 1902 as an agronomist and a missionary for the Methodist Church. He played a key role in the founding and development of the El Vergel Agricultural School (1919), serving as both a teacher and its director.
During his more than six decades in Chile, Bullock collected thousands of specimens of flora and fauna –including birds, insects, and mammals- as well as archaeological artifacts from the Mapuche people. He discovered various species of insects and reptiles that now bear his name. He established a museum to house his entire valuable collection; known today as the Dillman S. Bullock Historical Museum –founded in 1961 and located next to the school at El Vergel in Angol- it stands as one of the most significant nature history and archeology museum in southern Chile.
It also had an impact on the education of underprivileged rural youth, combining practical agricultural training with community values. It became a respected figure, consulted by the local community on matters of conservation, agriculture, and education. All those values and artifacts are drawn in the bus stop, highlighting a figure of Bullock on one of the pillars. RAMS and PAULA AURORA artistically draw the values and the artifacts that Dillman Bullock contributed to the history and patrimony of Angol.
