This old mural is located on a property at the corner of Colipí and Ilabaca streets, facing the Old Hospital of Angol. Coincidentally, the mural depicts the hospital, and further back, houses, reflecting the actual layout of the city in that area. The earliest photos by GraffitiPreBicentenario date back to June 2010; it can be inferred that the mural was likely created by a teacher alongside young students. Even back then, the mural showed signs of aging. Now, with the photos taken sixteen years later, traces of it remain, resembling archeological remnants that demonstrate how graffiti in Angol can endure for decades without intervention. Only the weather, the sun, and the passage of time can erase graffiti from the city’s walls.
From this corner, looking upwards, one can see how the trees and foliage form the shape of a creature against varying skies and lighting conditions. A tall palm tree stands out –seemingly of the species found in Colombia’s Andean forests, which can reach heights of up to 80 meters. To let your imagination see whatever it wishes, I am sharing nearly 25 photos of this fantastic view, capturing different cloud formations and lighting depending on the time of day they were taken.
