The Jammin’ Club’s first location in the bohemian Bellavista neighborhood was this iconic venue – a temple of reggae in Chile – founded by I-Locks Labbé, the bassist for the band Gondwana. The reggae figures painted on the club’s exterior façade are Gregory Isaacs, Bob Marley, and Michael Rose. I have not yet been able to identify the artist behind these works. Back in those pre-bicentennial days, the distance between the Jammin’ Club and the El Otro Sitio restaurant was less than 10 meters; the photos showing waiters serving drinks are from the restaurant that adjoined the Jammin’ Club at the time.
