This mosaic mural is one of the first community works of the project „Quiero Mi Barrio Javiera Carrera“, which means in English “I Want My Neighborhood Javiera Carrera”. Continuing with the community projects involving the Municipality of Angol and the Ministry of Housing, this time the Javiera Carrera neighborhood is being revitalized. As part of the decorative and artistic aspect, a mural designed by GABRIELA VIVART and decorated with tiles by neighborhood residents has been unveiled. It is located on the side wall of the building at Manuel Rodriguez 787, which is actually on the road Los Copihues.
The mural represents the essence of the Araucanía region. On the left, a house with the Chilean flag waving is surrounded by Araucaria Araucana trees. Next, the community is shown celebrating and dancing amidst the endemic flora and fauna of Araucanía. The mural concludes with a Swiss-style church surrounded by flowers and birds. Everything that is painted, apart from the mosaics, such as the sky, the clouds and the Araucaria trees, is ANTU’s work.
