Castelrotto in the Dolomites, or in German also known as Kastelruth, is an Italian mountain town in South Tyrol with around 7.000 inhabitants. The municipality encompasses areas in the lower Eisack Valley, in Val Gardena, and the surrounding mountain regions of the Dolomites. It is best known for the Seiser Alm, the largest high alpine pasture in Europe. Therefore the whole area is especially popular with hikers, mountaineers, and mountain bikers.
