The Ukelele hostel is located close to the center of Montevideo in the neighbourhood Barrio Sur. The house was built in the 1920s’ and constitutes a walk in itself with its classic style and its spacious and high ceiling rooms. Meanwhile the building is nearly 100 years old. Just 300 meters away is the famous rambla of Montevideo, and in ten minutes you can reach the Old City on foot. Ukulele is the perfect headquarter to have a good time and plan your trips, as well you can enjoy a swim in its huge pool, which is the only pool in a hostel in the city.
The place is good for having some cold beers in its bar, or just chatting with people from all over the world . They provide group “roasts” and tastes of Uruguayan grill. Close by there is as well the court with Nacional and Peñarol, the two largest paintings in the country. The hostel has a fully equiped kitchen for the guests, hot water for 24 hours, breakfast included, laundry service, free WiFi, and computers. The reception is also open 24 hours with nice staff who helps and gives advices.
