ROMANIA: Streetart Arad - Citizenit - Urban Art in the Northern Banat Region

Arad has around 145,000 inhabitants and is located in the south of the Kreisch region and in the north of the Banat, a major industrial center and important transport hub in the west of the country. Worth seeing are the Palace of Culture on George Enescu Square, the Turnului Water Tower, the Red Church and the Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral. Of course, there are also interesting works of urban art here, especially the non governmental association CITIZENIT is organizing a lot of colorful projects. These great photos of urban art were taken by ANITA MAURER, ANNEMARIE M and the world explorers Thomas Adventurer and Diana Beekvelt, also known as NOMADS ON WHEELS. Miss Marion Davies

Marion Cecelia Douras, better known as Marion Davies, was an American actress who became famous for her film successes in the 1920s and 1930s, including many comedies and above all her first film role in 1917 in „Runaway Romania“, for which she had written the screenplay herself. She made her Broadway debut at the age of 16. She was born on January 3, 1897 in Brooklyn, New York and died on September 22, 1961 in Los Angeles, California.

Near the sports center of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Vasile Goldi? West University, you will find a colorful wall that was designed in 2022 during a workshop by the artist RECIS, who is also a founding member of the famous SWEET DAMAGE CREW.

e în natura noastr? – it´s in our nature – WANDA HUTIRA

Near the Mures River on Praporgescu Street, the artist WANDA HUTIRA created a 16-meter high little girl with the animals. The painted figures are typical animals that live in the surroundings of the region Lunca Mures, including ducks, birds and also the bank grasshopper, a species threatened with extinction.
