Portimão is a port city in the Algarve region of southern Portugal with around 49,000 inhabitants. The place is known for the historic old town, the Museu de Portimão in the restored cannery from the 19th century, the Gothic-style church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição or the fortified complex “Forte Santa Catarina”.
