Alvor is a municipality in the Algarve region with approximately 6,300 inhabitants. It lies at the mouth of the Rio de Alvor. Worth seeing are the historic town center, the small harbor “Portus Hannibalis” of the Phoenicians and the Roman settlement “Ipses”.
