Wellington, or in Maori “Te Whanganui-a-Tara” is the capital of New Zealand and is located at the southernmost end of the North Island on the Cook Strait. Worth seeing are the waterfront, Lambton Quay, the city cable car or the Wellington Botanic Gardens. Here we have a collection with magnificent urban art creations photographed by graffiti hunter and streetart lover MAZZANTI. Check out her instagram channel, where she regualry presents great pictures from Sweden and from other countries all over the world.
BMD – DAMIN RADFORD SCOTT & ANDREW J STEEL
The two fantastic artists DAMIN RADFORD SCOTT and ANDREW J STEEL, at that time still known as the creative duo BMD, painted a shark mural on the outside of a central Wellington carpark building during the first-ever New Zealand shark awareness week. It features 190 sharks – the number killed around the world every minute – many just for their fins. The week of activities was promoted by the NZ Shark Alliance – a group of organisations, including Greenpeace, and scientists working together to ban shark finning in New Zealand and to protect sharks. – Greenpeace
