CHILE: Streetart Angol – Berlín 568 – Quiero Mi Barrio Alemania 2017

In 2017, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development implemented the “Quiero Mi Barrio” program, which would mean in English „I Want My Neighborhood“. Here in the city of Angol, the program was called Quiero Mi Barrio Alemania 2017. The project consisted mainly of the implementation of a new multi-sport court, roofed and with lighting in the middle of the neighborhood Alemania of Angol. In addition, neighbors painted murals, like the one showing children playing football or soccer on the ground without any sports equipment. The photographs were taken in 2019, but the photo showing the same mural faded and erased by time is from the end of 2024.

Unfortunately, the mural was made with ordinary paint, they did not use spray can type of work, which helps to set the color on the wall and prevent it from deteriorating as much over time. You can see it above on the far right of the mural that says Quiero Mi Barrio Alemania 2017. The neighbors also participated in the creation of mosaics on benches, planters and also on murals made with mosaics spread throughout the walls of the Alemania neighborhood.
