BOLIVIA: Streetart Santa Cruz de la Sierra – Graffiti and Urban Art Collection

Santa Cruz de la Sierra has around 1.7 million inhabitants, is located on the Pirai River in the tropical plain east of the Andes and is the commercial center of the vast Pampas in the southeast of the country. It is both the most modern and largest city in Bolivia and one of the fastest growing cities in Latin America. Founded by the Spanish in the 16th century, the city is now a cosmopolitan center with museums, restaurants and nightclubs. Worth seeing is the historic city center, Plaza 24 de Septiembre or the Metropolitan Cathedral built of pink bricks. Also the large and colorful carnival and the music and theater festival take place here every year. Of course, there are also great urban works of art in the streets. Here are some images photographed by world traveler CHRIS AMES.
