BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA: Streetart Sarajevo - Marijin Dvor - Hastahana Park - Basketball Court

You could say, yes, it’s just a basketball court marking, like so many others. But even at first glance, it’s clear that this isn’t a typical court. It’s a unique design, actually more of an abstract work of art composed of various shapes and warm, bright, vibrant colors. Just made on the floor. Seen from far above by drone, it looks like an abstract painting.

This becomes even more apparent when you look at the city as a whole, its suffered architecture, and the aftermath of the war. The newly constructed buildings are modern in style, but everything built before that is gray and somewhat faded in terms colors. That’s why this basketball court stands out all the more. It literally glows in every colors, especially when the sun shines on it around noon.

And it must have been a lot more super shining decades ago the time when it was created. You can see that the whole thing was designed a long time ago. At this point, we don’t know any more (yet) about the background or the artists, but that will follow. If you know more, feel free to write to us and we’ll add the information.
