This wall of a ruined house was likely left in that state after the 8.8 magnitude earthquake of February 27, 2010. Over the years, the wall has undergone changes, as indicated here:
Stage 1
Most of the photographs from this first stage show the wall with some writing and also peeling over time. After almost 15 years of deterioration, a toothy face with a sharp gaze appears, almost in the middle, giving life to this abandoned wall. There are no traces of the artist involved in this intervention.
Stage 2
Then in 2024, GEP and KUSH arrived to decorate and give life into this abandoned wall. Curiously, the face that had reached first in Stage 1 remains almost intact, although KUSH’s flop slightly overtook it. On the left side of the wall, we have GEP’s three-dimensional graffiti, which looks like a moving Lego brick. Above, we see his tags, GEP and PMR. On the right, you can see KUSH’s colorful flop, made with four colors plus black and white.
Stage 3
ZEN bursts in, covering the entire wall with his work, leaving GEP’s graffiti and KUSH’s flop untouched, but enveloping them with the one-eyed volcano that spews red lava all the way to the city’s foot. ZEN’s final intervention, as usual, giving the finishing touch to the works carried our here in Angol, leaves the wall with a great deal of intensity, color, and a sense of identity, reflecting what you see here in La Araucanía, a region of dozens of imposing volcanoes.
